you plot and scheme to do me in,
but you made one big mistake - I am not a flake. .
I must thank you for your mistake;
your plan backfired.
See, you only made me see what is real and what is fake.
I'm stronger now than ever;
all of your obstacles just made me more whole, more complete,
You thought you'd have me in pieces,
that I'd never be able to sustain the pain - you were wrong.
I'm like a flower, blooming due to your rain, and you're still singing the same old song.
No matter what you do,
I'll be okay.
You helped me to know the real me.
Overcoming adversity brings strength - didn't you know?
By the way, my strength is here to stay.
You thought I was just a pretty mess.
You never really knew me at all.
All your insights were just a misguided guess.
You're the joke.
You think you're the winner, but you played a part in the play,
and you keep playing it for everyone to see - the eternal victim -
When they laugh at me,
they also laugh at you.
You thought you'd have your revenge,
and in a way,
you did.
But
You didn't think,
Think that I'd come out of it stronger, more confident, wiser, and with more self-esteem.
You overlooked one crucial fact;
my spirit was not up for bid.
You can't deaden my soul.
You didn't know;
you can only steal what someone allows you to take.
My strength isn't fake.
