You Have No Power Here. Now Be Gone!

The words "happy", "delighted", and "ecstatic", have come into play when describing how some Americans feel with regards to the death of Bin Laden. I've been a happy bride, a delighted mother, and an ecstatic grandmother. Therefore it is difficult for me to associate these same memorable feelings with the death of such an evil man. Don't get me wrong, I am relieved, satisfied, and confident that he is indeed dead. But "happy" not so much.
The big question now is to show or not to show graphic pictures of a dead terrorist. I can not fathom the American People wanting or needing to see the pictures of a dead Osama Bin Laden. Yes "dead", he's dead. Dead as a doornail, dead as a dodo, dead as yesterday, ding-dong dead. Seeing a picture will not make him anymore dead. For those who are skeptic, a picture is not going to turn them into believers. They would still doubt the validity of a picture. A doubter is a doubter is a doubter.
Thankfully clearer heads have prevailed and decided against releasing these all too real pictures. But this will not stop someone somewhere from leaking them. I only hope that they are not easy to find, and I for one will not go looking. I would rather concentrate on healing the past with hope for the future.
In the words of the Munchkin Coroner—when determining the condition of the Wicked Witch—"She's not only mearly dead, she's really most sincerely dead." Then quickly moving on, Dorothy optimistically skipped onward with the goal of finding her way back home, not dwelling on the dead witch.
Granted, we don't have any glittery ruby slippers to click together, but I know we have the guts, heart and determination of any Dorothy Gale. As well as the resolution to keep our lives free and safe.
Our Wicked Witch is most sincerely dead. Let's not shed anymore light on him. He is not worth the energy. Put the spotlight where it belongs,on those who risked their lives for our freedom. Turn your thoughts to the strength, courage and patriotism thriving in spite of the terrorists considerable efforts to defeat us.
We need to move onward and find our way back home. And like Dorothy, when we encounter another witch, hopefully our buckets will be filled with enough drops of blood, sweat, tears and allegiance, to arm our heroes with, so they are ready to melt that one too.
