Well wasn't that a boring match of tennis.

Poor Fernando Gonzalez couldn't break Roger Federer's serve no matter how hard he tried and in the last point of the whole match he just gave up and let the ball bounce past him. Poor guy.

But THIS photo published on news.com.au tells another story in case the reader isn't a tennis nut...

In pain?/Source: news.com.au

The guy looks like he's in pain rather than looking like he just won another grand slam.

Australian Open Men's Final

January 28th 2007 10:11
Gonzalez/Source: Wiki
So far, 1 set down and Federer is in the lead. No surprises there.

You gota admit though he's got a challenger who won't die without a fight.

And as a typical Aussie I'm going for the underdog. Fernando Gonzalez is an unknown for me and I haven't noticed him since the year started. And taking the first set to a tiebreak shows he's gonna try and push Federer to the end. If he knocks Federer out he'll be the first guy to make Federer lose since August last year.

Now someone who hasn't lost a match since August is definitely A FREAK.

By the way, is it necessary to show slow motion moments of the players mid-hit or doing a very slow 'cooommmmeeee onnnnnnnnn' facial expression? It's quite offputting. Like watching the same wicket being bowled over and over again in the cricket. Not necessary and overanalysing it until you get carried off by the men in white jackets.

Go the underdog!

Epic Movie

January 27th 2007 13:06
So tonight I went to see Epic Movie at Indro.

And I actually liked it!

Seeing the previews of it reminded me of how deplorable Date Movie was (and under the impression it was just a lamo rip off so I automatically categorised Epic as 'stupid movie I have to waste $6.50 on'). But I gritted my teeth and laughed real laughs throughout the whole movie.

Sure there was quite a lot of cliches that made you cringe and think 'why the hell did they do that??' but overall it was enjoyable and the type of movie you would have to see RIGHT NOW to understand the pop culture references.

And I was totally blown away by the cast. They weren't big names but LC from Laguna Beach made an appearance (with one line) and the same guy who was the lead in Date Movie was a lead in this film as well. Methinks he's gonna carve a career in these types of movies like Carmen Electra.

Still, after Epic Movie, I think we've had enough with these type of movies. The Scary Movie franchise was enough.

And yeah, kinda tame post today.

Federer/Source: The Age
Why can't Roger Federer just pike and throw away a match? He's earned enough money as it is for someone his age (over $28 million) and just wins all the time.

Can he NOT WIN this year? Can't he just throw away an easy shot and let someone else from some poor remote island country that we never heard of win a grand slam? Or maybe even let Lleyton Hewitt add to his ego and let him win and let sport commentators have a field day with that one

The Hills Season 2 Episode 2 Review

January 23rd 2007 09:48
Well episode 2 was highly...stagflated.

The massive build up to Heidi's "is she pregnant?" was totally anti-climatic. Who the hell, calls up the guy they are seeing to make sure their insecurities are in check? Heidi's boyfriend Spencer was shitting himself when Heidi brought up the pregnancy scare only to find out she wasn't pregnant. Who the hell chose her words??? MTV?? Most likely

Hidden political issues on the Simpsons

January 23rd 2007 09:33
I find it terribly funny (in a haha sense mind you) that after watching the Simpsons for like...17 years you start to see it in a different meaning after you watch an episode for the 10th time.

Well...not so much for tonight's episode at the 6pm timeslot

So YOU Think YOU Can Dance

January 21st 2007 11:40
I've never bothered with this show, only cos I don't get it. After watching tonight's episode it looks complicated and Cat Deeley is trying too hard to be the next female Ryan Seacrest.

Sure this is the American Idol of dance and you gotta have your staple Pom in the judging lineup

on Can Roger Federer just be nice and LOSE for once?

January 26th 2007 01:22
Don't get me wrong Ahmed, Federer is bloody awesome but winning and winning and winning all the time just bores me a little. Him winning all four grand slams is cool, then he kept winning and it just got a little tedious. Then there's the unrelenting pressure on him after every game to perform better than the last, being the defending champion of every grand slam puts pressure on him to win them again.

For the pain and emotion involved in the game, the money is sure worth it and I'm sure he does do a bit for charity with his earnings as well. But yeah, he was defeated by Andy at the Medibank International before the Open and in return Roger masscred Andy last night (much more worse than Nadal but Nadal got his ass kicked by a number 10 seed when he was the number 2), so that was quite an easy match to win.

Poor Andy, that 6-0 in the second set would've hurt a lot.

on Tyra Banks is Fat

January 17th 2007 11:05
I'm appalled that you would dare to call her fat. Just because she's in the public eye and has since retired from professional modelling and wants to relax her eating habits doesn't mean that she's fat. She looked awesome on the last cycle of top model. Even though she may have been caked in make up, you can't hide the fact that she's got an ass and that ass is appearing in her successful TV shows for all the right reasons.

Calling someone fat doesn't make you a better person, though I am perplexed that you may be accusing her of that to get hits for your site.

And that shot was in Sydney where she was filming the next cycle of Top Model.

Thanks dude, I wasn't really thinking of colour coordination. Just mashed anything that looked pretty and hit 'save' lol.

But Gwen...it's a little off her desired target of whatever she's trying to achieve. She brought Harajuku to the mainstream...but now?
