I Wish This Was 42 - by Dianna G

Yay!

August 14th 2007 02:47
As of tomorrow, I will be calling Spiros, a family friend, and arranging for some part time work later this week. I'm really looking forward to getting out of the house, working, and actually earning some much-needed cash.

It's funny how when I was reading some article I can't remember on a site I can't remember-damned informative, aren't I-it mentioned life savings. And all about how self-publishing could slaughter them. And I just laughed and thought 'that wouldn't be hard; my life savings are $5.00'.

Hey, maybe by next week it'll be more! That'd be nice. I'm still bugging the hell out of family for that adsense thing. *Rolls eyes* but my family was created useless. Unsurprisingly. I'm really looking forward to the day when I actually GET the adsense. You know. I'd like to see some reward for the blogging.

Of course, blogging has its own rewards... the community here is the best one. I get my thoughts out, and people sometimes even read them. I'd like to see money... but at this point, I don't really mind not having it. While I need money sometime, it's not an urgent need, I won't die from lack of money; I'm still living with my mother. So.

As for other things. Other things... I'm not coming up with other things, am I.

So let's just leave it with the work thoughts. I'm definitely excited about it!

Hi Dianna,

I hope the work goes well for you.

I have yet to see a cent for blogging but I really do it for the experience of writing regularly and seeing what other people think of issues and topics I write on.

I guess for me blogging has earned me money indirectly though because it's helped give me ideas for articles that have actually produced some income (though still waiting, waiting for it to arrive).

Well, if I had signed up solely for money, I'd be really dumb, since Adsense is 18 . That is part of my motivation, and I would like it, but I love writing, too, and writing about writing...

And Orble has this truly awesome community, too...

Congratulations Dianna, hope you get fairly paid.

As regards money from blogging I don't even cover my internet connection but consider I want that anyway.

Cent wise, I'm slowly crawling there, alarming isn't it. But I'm sure for you it is all very exciting, and rightly so, too.

So do keep up the good work.

Hi Dianna, what work will you be doing? If I could turn back the clock, I wish I had started work at an early age - I didn't start work (any kind of work) until I was 18 which I totally regret now because I believe working in your teens give you the maturity you need when you finish high school and join the real world.

Even five bucks a month is good for me.

I don't care how much I'm getting paid... as long as there's something...

As for the part time ness, I'm sure it'll be fair. Spiros isn't the type of person to underpay. If anything, it'll be about minimum wage. That's the lowest I could see, maybe a bit lower than minimum wage, but not too much.

Of course, I'm probably way off and it's probably like $2.00/hour, but hey, like I said, even $5 bucks a month is more than I get now, so it's all good.

Aimzster,
It's at a construction site, if I recall correctly. I'll be getting the exact details tomorrow. It's either that, or it's for some strange Pagan event type thing. Either way...

I don't think it's absolutely necessary to work in your teens... it's something that can be good, sure, but there's no *need* to do it.

What do you do for a living at the moment? (See, now I'm getting all curious... beware!)
