Cricket All stars

December 13th 2006 07:06
Okay, this is my version of a cool cricket concept, how about we form two cricket all starsteams, akin to the tsunami appeal matches and Australia vs. rest of the world except it would be basically norths vs. souths/

Imagine Australia, New Zealand and South Africa going against their northern hemisphere counterparts? and how bout the team? okay here is my basic line up for the Souths team:

Justin Langer, Graeme Smith,Ricky Ponting, Fleming, Jacque Kallis, Adam Gilchrist, Shane Warne, Daniel Vetori, Shaun Pollock, Shane Bond and Glenn McGrath

Norths would be:

ChrisGale, Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Mohammad Yousuf, Kevin Pieterson, Kumar Sanggakara, Mutiah Muralitharan, Andew Flintoff, Taylor, Irfan Pathan and Shoaib Akhta
r

Anyway, do name your prospective teams and maybe the ICC would get wind of this

Labour Party Blues

December 4th 2006 10:30
Another new face in the leadership roles in the ALP. Rudd and Gillard seem like the ideal candidates to run and the caucous vote seems to reflect that. However, could such instability really mean a stronger labour party int he upcoming election?

Perhaps that shaking of hands behind the speaker's chair between Rudd and Howard isn;t friendly chivalrous banter between opponents.

I really suspect that perhaps that there could be an orchestrated move by right-wing power backers that have undermined a deal to install Rudd and Gillard in order to create a win-win situation: Rudd having a chance to have the glory... and another vote swing towards the liberals.

There is no suprise that every instable period in the ALP has always been due to right-wing members causing a fuss in a largely left-wing/centre party. There is something amiss here.

Conservatis Ad Nauseam

November 17th 2006 10:36
Dear All

Okay, we clearly have a shit Ashes Team. We have two hotshots who are unproven in tests as bowlers, we have an all-rounder (who is injured) and our next hope of a batsman is not playing this round (Michael Clarke).

What the fuck happened to the so called attack on England's Achilles Heel (by sending in two leg spinners who are succesful against teams already known to play against spin)? All we're doing is reverting back to primitive tactics by playing in a four prong pace attack allrounder inclusion.

We need 2 spinners people!!!!!

I'm fucking fed up with selectors. The most obvious fact of England being susceptible to spinners like Warne and Murali just doesnt seem to enter their un-evolved cricketing brains.

Polly and Mcgrath

October 26th 2006 05:36
Hey all cricket loving fans

Forgive me for drawing up a would-be orbituary for two of the finest cricketers to play the modern game: Mcgrath and Pollock. Now hold your horses before I start to list the list of dear ones left behind, it doth grieves me to write this as we speak, and I do believe that resuurection is in place for them

Should we watch out for Watson?

October 24th 2006 01:51
Dear all,

Now i know the selectors are raving mad by this Queensland lad, who has the potential to put off all the Flintoffs, and make the list next to Kallis, but are is it simply all hot air

Shame on those young Liberals

October 23rd 2006 11:04
This is a a repost of my earlier post from the blogger.com website. I think it's relevant now when the Liberals want a revue of the Australian History subjects around the schooling changed, arguing that its mainly inclined to leftist views. Well, I say this may open a whole lotta can of worms, especially when young people that aspire to spread the Good Liberal Views! around. If the education minister (Liberal by the way) thinks that the current history syllabus taught all over Australian schools are "staright out of Chairman Mao's book," thank God help us all if we educate our kids under her "centred-impartial" approach. This is a smoke screen to hide the real intentions behind the Liberal think tank's division known as the "new age inquisition", to raise a whole generation that revere the old ways and be sympathatic to Australia's aspirations of emperialism and it's ties to the old world.

This is truly a scary world that may come to pass before we know it unless we stand up against the well oilled machine of mass "right-wing" conversion.

T3

October 11th 2006 11:12
Dear All

I am writing on the state of the Privatisation of Telstra and the sale of these new T3 shares. It has become apparent that Australia's main tel-co is going under the hammer, and now they're advertising for th eopportunity iof a lifetime to snatch up shares with flexible repayment options and the chance to receive dividends even before you make your installments. Funny though, they're previous Telstra share values have dropped, and they think the people of Australia would snatch up on the opportunity of a lifetime. Here are some reasons why investing in Telstra shares are akin to sponsoring a group of nerds to find the ancient fountain of youth: 1) Sol Trujillo wants a bigger cut, 2) his amigo (or mate if you want to translate and aussie-fy it) claims that he wouldn't even recommend t3 shares to his own mother, and 3) their past share values are not exactly the kind you would see in BRW revies
