Wow! 36 Days. Out of the Loop

November 4th 2010 13:46
Time flys when you get busy and love it. I got a new job, yes even in this economy and my Orble time dropped significantly. All kind of things are going on. The World Series is over and my favorite TV shows are back and we are loving it. Hells' Kitchen -- Hell Yes!. Gordon is back and this season we have all kinds of favorites. Sabrina wow! But darn she wont stop "playing the game" long enough to make her chefery look stupendous. And what's going to happen to Trevor? Sabrina got him going. You know he is too young to know about what women are capable of. Our favorite line? Gordon yelling, "It's Raw!" Then smashing the food with his hand and throwing the platefull of raw smashed food at the chefs!

Man Versus Food, all new episodes. You know the Food Network is losing viewers to the Travel Channel whose food shows are fresh and more entertaining. We used to watch Food Network all the time. Now the only Food Network show we watch is "Good Eats" with Alton Brown. He lives 20 miles north or here so we like seeing the local supermarkets or attractions. But the Travel Channel with the new shows MVF, and Food Wars has taken prime time away from the Big Food Network. Now shows about bizarre foods we watch occasionally, but shows like Man V Food are appealing. Adam Richmond has a quality about him that makes us feel like he is kin. When he eats too much and hits the proverbial "Food Wall", we just feel so sorry for him in his pain. I've been there and it doesn't feel good. We compared him to Guy Fieri of Diners, Driveins, and Dives fame, but there is no comparison. Sorry Guy. We used to be on board but now Guy comes across as a pompous restaurant owner and know it all.

Adam is real. He is the guy next door. He is like part of the family you just want to give him a big hug when he is in pain even though the pain is self inflicted. We especially love the "Heat" challenges when he tries to eat nuclear hot dishes and his fac turns red, you can almost see his lips swell, his mouth starts watering, nose running, the smile replaced by that "Oh My God, What have I done?" look. And you just say, "Awww, Adam. Why?"

One thing is for sure. The Food Network is trying to get back in control. They are launching a new show that is almost identical to Man Versus Food, but they are looking for "Meat" challenges, not just nay food challenge. I dont know if the host is going to eat the challenge or not and I will give the show a chance but it looks like Man Versus Food: Meat Edition.

Gotta go. Till next time.
