World Where You Live - March 2007

Double Trouble

Thank goodness the NSW election is over, I have my mind on other things today such as the problems I am having with these two year old twin girls I baby sit for on occasions...talk about double trouble! Every time I baby sit for them, either one or both of them are in the thinking corner for one reason or another and neither of them understand the meaning of the word "No" and I cannot smack them for obvious reasons (I am not their mother).
In one incident, they both tipped buckets of water over another child.

So if anyone has any child care advice, please let me know soon as I am getting rather desperate for advice.

Anyway been a couple of interesting weeks on the footy front. Newcastle having close wins without Andrew Johns and the premiers of the last three seasons, the Broncos, Tigers and Bulldogs have not won a game as yet.

Tonight sees the end of Round 2 with the Gold Coast Titans and Cronulla Sharks meeting at Carrara Oval. So far, the Cowboys, Warriors and South Sydney have impressed me in the first two rounds.

The Roosters and Eels have been nothing short of terrible so far, the Roosters must get rid of this one marker thing as it is not working and they were exploited against the Cowboys on Saturday night.

I watched the somewhat chilling movie Tsunami: the Aftermath last night on Channel 9, it was all about the aftermath of disaster in the devastated areas of Phuket and Khao Lak in Thailand after the Boxing Day tsunami in 2004. It was one of the most chilling and sad things I have ever watched in my life, in fact I don’t think I was ready to watch it and that seemed to be the reaction of many viewers who didn't watch it. I really don't think it is something that could be made into a movie but never the less, some of the stories that were portrayed on it were sad and extremely distressing.

Just quickly, the NSW Shadow Treasurer, Barry O Farrell has announced that he will challenge Peter Debnam for the leadership of the NSW Liberal Party, which is some of the aftermath of the NSW election on Saturday.

That's all for now so tata cyaz

Sending Up Peter Debnam

We sent the NSW Premier up yesterday so now it is the turn of the NSW Opposition leader, Peter Debnam. I am going to tell you what he should say before this Saturday's election:

Peter Debnam
"Good evening voters of NSW, in case you don't know I am the Opposition Leader of New South Wales, Peter Debnam, I replaced Broggers when he had a little too much to drink and, erm, we won't go there. Anyway I am here to tell you why you should vote for ME at the election on Saturday March 24.

Voters, it's as simple as this. We have been living in a state where everything has been stuffed up by the Labor Party clowns in the last 12 years, public transport is discriminatory against people with long legs, our health and education systems lack a certain something but I can't figure out what, housing is a shonk and basically under Iemma's crooks, we've been stuffed like I have been with those stupid ads about my business record and more.

Voters, I have plans which I have outlined and when I am elected I will pull these plans out of my hat on my very first day in office and, voila, New South Wales is fixed!.
Which reminds me, here is my slogan: Vote Debnam, NSW is Saved, Vote Iemma, NSW is Stuffed.
Good night voters, be strong and be brave on Saturday!'

Sending Up: Morris Iemma

What I thought I would do is send up the NSW Premier, Morris Iemma and the NSW Opposition Leader,Peter Debnam and what they should be saying to voters ahead of the NSW state election. Let's have a bit of fun at the expense of a few politicians...please keep in mind that this is a little bit of fun and to please keep it that way.

I'll do it over two days so first up is the NSW premier and what he should tell the voters of NSW:

Morris Iemma
Good morning voters of the wonderful state of New South Wales. Today I plead to you to give my colleagues and I a chance at four more years to stuff up education and health, continue our poor track record when it comes to the worst train system in the Western world and overcrowded and smelly buses, continue with next to no police on our streets and continue to work toward making NSW the basket case of Australia with ineffective policy after ineffective policy.

The leader of the NSW Opposition wants to fix everything...why? It's far too expensive and send our triple A credit rating down the gurgler so I plan to spend a bundle of money on an expensive desalination plant that will be a disaster for the environment and for the people that live around that area in Southern Sydney.
I have well formed to plans to continue what Labor has done for the last 12 years in New South Wales: Nothing.
But before I go I will reveal to you my slogan: We have stuffed up NSW but we want to do more
Good night, New South Wales and happy voting on Saturday!

Peter Debnam tomorrow...tata cyaz

It is True: Debnam in Speedos

Yes, it is true, the NSW Opposition leader, Peter Debnam has been making Liberal policy announcements in Speedos...not just once but seven times through out the election campaign so far. I will provide pictorial evidence if needed

Debnam vs Craig
A British newspaper compared Debnam to Daniel Craig

The Bizarre NSW Election campaign so far

I have noticed some bizarre things in the last couple of weeks and a lot of it is to do with the up coming NSW state election.
1.) The NSW Opposition leader, Peter Debnam making policy announcements in nothing but a pair of Speedos. I suppose he has to do something to make people aware of who he is because most people in NSW have got next to no idea who he is unless you listen to or watch the news

A combo of everything

Where do people get off reporting false information? That rather trashy British newspaper, News of the World has reported that Spears was on the verge of committing suicide after she reportedly wrote the devils number on her forehead and ran around the Malibu rehab centre yelling "I am the Anti christ!" and then reportedly tried to hang herself with bed sheets according to this newspaper but then Channel 7's Hollywood reporter came on TV this morning and said that these reports were false and that Britney is doing just fine. Then the Channel 9 reporter said he doesn't believe this story is true. To me, this latest Britney story is a little too far fetched if you ask me and it is about time, people left her alone, that would be the best thing for Britney at the moment.

Anyway bad news for the St George Illawarra Dragons, their makeshift five eighth, Mark Gasnier is most definitely out for the season after he saw a specialist today and it was confirmed that he will need surgery to repair his torn pectorial muscle. With Gasnier out for the season, their odds have blown out exponentially with bookies, going from an eleven dollar chance of winning the premiership to a twenty dollar chance. The Bulldogs and the Storm are currently the favourites for the competition which kicks off on March 16.
