How Great Men Defeated

August 27th 2008 00:20
Alexander the Great
Alexander the Great

"A bathtub is enough for Diogenes, but the world is too small for Alexander"

This is the question of contentment. Asking too much is a human weakness. When Alexander learned that there was no place for him to conquer (because he had it already) he cried. That's the first time the couple of tears washed his face. He thought the world was too small. But for Diogenes a bathtub is enough for two.

Anakin, in George Lucas movie the Star Wars, was once a good boy and polite. He was full of ambitions and he worked it out. But time came when his wife the queen was facing death, he wanted more. He exchanged his principle from being a Jedi to Darth Vader the apprentice of the Sith Lord in order for his wife to live. Fear of losing led him to the dark side of the force. He did not accept death as a natural disaster. He wanted more. He loses a lot.

Great men have great fear. When they have power they don't want it to forgo. They live and die for it. But why? Because of ego. They are afraid that someone will become greater than them. Ego can be used as flame to become successful in life. But in some instance, if you don't know how to use it into in a positive way, it will destroy you. It is the greatest enemy of man inside him. Just like fear.

Asking too much is undesirable. Even the whole world is yours, still you will not be contented. That's the time you loose.

The Few Stages Of Life

August 25th 2008 14:05
Life is just a stair. Make few steps on it and it's all over.

Everyday is a passing page of time. You can count it but can't repeat. We are living in empirical world. We always experiment on the things which are new to our eyes. Sometimes we succeed but most of the time we failed. Those failures are nothing but just parts of determining between right and wrong decisions. One thing we should remember, that in failure must no regret. Be happy. Because when you fail, that's the time you won. That's the time you see things clearly. That's the time you determine right from wrong.

Choosing decision, is choosing which way you want to go. And in every decision you drawn, be mindful it is like waking on a foggy road. You are not certain on what really lies ahead. You should carry your armor. Courage, determination, perseverance are the best for that.

The day from its beginning is a wonderful sunrise. And then, the sun rising gradually, and it was a hot afternoon. It is the time to examine ourselves. How far have we reached? Is this really what I want? Maybe by asking these questions, there is a sigh inside us. And whisper; "Oh, what a waste life. Where have I been?"

Doing nothing is killing. You kill your time. At the time the sunset came, you don't have enough of it. What you have is the remaining tickle of your clock. You don't have vigor. You are weak now. It's your turn to be an old man. Now the question: Did you use your time in proper way old man? You've gone for such a long time and end up with nothing. But this is life. We all have this life. We came here for an unknown reason, we'll be gone with an unknown reason too. One thing is certain, we all have ends.

The issue is not how long you live. But how you spend your life.
