WITHOUT EXCUSE
June 19th 2007 02:52
Excuses, excuses excuses!!! Everyone has one. They are always at the ready like ammunition ready to be shot off when we are late for work, school, when we don’t show up for that meeting we promised to attend. Let’s look at a few examples in the scriptures
In Luke 14:18, there was a certain man who prepared a great supper and when it was ready, he sent out one of his servants to invite people in. He said to the people the supper is ready come and dine.and they all with one consent made excuse. The first one said that he just bought a piece of land and I need to go see it (it is foolish to buy anything sight unseen) please have me excused. The second one said I have bought five yoke of oxen and I need to go and try them out (that’s like buying a car without test driving it first) so please have me excused. The third one said I have married a wife so, I cannot come. (he could have brought her to the supper with him) He ended up saying that those men that were invited will not taste of my supper. The next example is in Romans chapter 1 verse 20 it says that the creation has enough evidence of the existence of God that it leaves mankind without excuse. No one will be justified by saying they didn’t know. And the next example is Romans Chapter 2 where it is concluded that man is inexcusable. Also, when the servant with one talent hid his in the earth and made excuse as to why he didn’t reinvest his money saying that he was afraid and hid the talent in the earth, his excuse didn’t hold water and was thrown into outer darkness. Do you make excuses for lying to the boss when you say heavy traffic held you up when in reality you slept in? Or perhaps you decided not to attend church because you figure that you can worship God at home just as effectively, then when the pastor says the following week that he missed you, you tell him you were sick or out of town? Or you make excuse when you are facing temptation and rationalize that well no one is perfect it won’t hurt just this once? Or the age old excuse that everyone is doing it. When it comes to getting right with God, no excuse will be good enough to get you off the hook at the last judgement. So if you are thinking about becoming a believer, do it now because the spirit may be calling you for the last time. The ABC’s of salvation are as follows:
A. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Realize that you have sinned and need a savior) Romans 3:23
B. God sent his Son to be crucified to suffer the penalty that was due you for living in sin (second death) Romans 6:23
C. Accept His sacrifice for sin and accept Jesus Christ as your savior and Lord. Romans 10:9-13
Behold, now is the accepted time behold, today is the day of salvation 2 Corinthians 6:2
I pray that you have a blessed day and remember , don’t make excuses do it now(Git-R-Done!!!)
