UTRAN optimization and performance experience

LCC is currently looking for UTRAN (Ericsson) Subject Matter Expert with strong Ericsson and end to end UTRAN optimization and performance experience

LCC is currently looking for UTRAN (Ericsson) Subject Matter Expert with strong Ericsson and end to end UTRAN optimization and performance experience and with the following background:

Description of responsibilities:
• Provide Ericsson UTRAN SME support for UMTS Optimization

Experience & skills required:
• High level RF engineer with 3 years of strong Ericsson end to end UTRAN optimization and performance experience
• Must know Agilent, TEMS & Ericsson Tools
• RNPT 6.6.0, neXplorer 4.6, MCOM, NeXplorer
• Protocol Analysis/Trouble shooting tools from Ericsson (Monitor, decoders, flow, MoShell etc)
• RNC and RBS parameter consistency check and parameter optimization
• Analyzing UEH and GPEH data, Analyzing UETR and CTR data
• Cluster and network Optimization
• Drive test analysis and Cluster drive report generation (AT&T GNG experience preferred)
• Statistic counter analysis
• Monitor network problems and finding solution to help O&M and transmission

Education required (minimum): BSEE

Start Date: ASAP

Project Length: 6 Months

Looking for WiMAX Network Field Engineers for full-time, permanent positions in Denver, San Francisco, Atlanta, Dallas or Richmond, VA. •3 years direct experience system engineer or equivalent for a wireless broadband equipment manufacturer or system integrator.

Summary:
Brisk Engineering has excellent opportunities for several UMTS Design/Optimization Engineers for both short/long term positions throughout the continental US and internationally. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing innovative network solutions in high growth global telecommunications markets. This person must possess technical expertise to design complex network solutions and challenging the status quo in support of new solutions and ideas. Candidates must have good understanding of network topologies and voice and data services. Key skills required are the ability to collect and analyze network performance statistics and the experience to make technical improvement recommendations to incorporate design changes, fine tuning, KPI analysis and statistical counters.

Description: Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
• Network Planning - deliver expert consulting, design and engineering support to customers
• Work with Sales and Professional Services to develop state-of-art customized wireless solutions for Carriers worldwide
• Proactively resolve RF Optimization field issues, ability to make technical recommendations to improve the system performance
• Customer Support - represent the company•s technical capabilities and manage day-to-day technical needs of wireless customers. Support / enable customer specific solutions to grow business. Steer customer expectations according to product and network management capabilities
• Post-process drive test data and perform statistical analysis
• Produce coverage plots, call drop, handoff results, interference, pilot pollutions, network parameter levels and statistics, analysis, etc.
• Identify customer needs beyond scope of project and identify emerging opportunities
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; Master•s degree preferred.
• Five or more years of wireless engineering experience including at least two years experience in UMTS
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with at least one of the following technologies: GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA and HSPDA/HSUPA
• Successful history of managing stressful situations and adapting to rapidly changing program requirements while working as an individual or as part of a team.
Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; Master•s degree preferred.
• Five or more years of engineering experience including at least two years in experience in UMTS
• PMP/Six Sigma Certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with at least one of the following technologies: GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA and HSPDA/HSUPA
• Proven leadership skills coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
• Successful history of managing stressful situations and adapting to rapidly changing program requirements while working with a team.
Other Qualifications:
• Excellent knowledge of GPRS/UMTS network architecture
• Proven customer skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel both internally and externally (within vendor and end-customer environment)
• Hands on experience in OSS and SNMP protocol
• Excellent knowledge of SS7 protocol and procedures (SCCP, MTP2, MTP3b, MAP, RANAP, BSSGP, BSSGP and SIGTRAN), ATM and Frame Relay technologies
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

China's Huawei Challenges European Rivals on Quality

STOCKHOLM—Huawei Technologies Co.'s challenge to European rivals has largely focused on its pricing advantage. But industry watchers say the Chinese network-equipment vendor, which last week won a contract from Belgian telecommunications provider Belgacom SA, now has another key selling point: the quality of its technology.

As the telecom industry emerges from the global economic slump, European telecommunication-gear companies—global market leader Telefon AB L.M. Ericsson; Nokia Siemens Networks, a joint venture between Finland's Nokia Corp. and Germany's Siemens AG; and Paris-based Alcatel-Lucent SA—are likely to face increased pressure from world No. 2 Huawei in their own backyard.
