desperate measures for popularity

Nothing annoys me more than cheap ways to get views on youtube. From the stupid countless " free Ipod/Wii/ your bloody carcass -desperate ploy for attention on youtube to the pointless boob shots ( and the stupid titles to catch people's attention)
With the increasing popularity of youtube, comes much stricter competition. Viacom and other big companies actually hire people to " suscribe" to them non stop creating " bot" accounts. The quality has gone down since it's inception, but it's only because youtube is clogged with so much junk nowadays.
Another popular trick is to strategically place a shot of something people would click in the middle of your video and watch people get jinxed over it.
This doesn't cause longevitiy, and it's as stupid as the " click Here " websites but in the growing competetive world of video it might be way people resort to such desperate acts
