The tourism for Jamaica in year 2009 was a catastrophe, as it was seriously hit by the global economic downturn and widespread of A H1N1.
According to the latest statistic, those tourists were traveled to Jamaica on the first half of 2009 was sharply fall up to 45 percent! It’s a very worrying situation, as tourism is the second largest income for the Jamaican’s government. They have to do something to stop the problem and they need to act fast!
In this case, the Jamaica had decided to add the flights to the island to 70,000 seats, as it used to cover up the summer tourism season’s loss and hopes for a better winter tourism season!
For overcoming the bad tourism period in Jamaica, John Lynch, the tourism director said American Airlines has been offering service out of Phoenix to Kingston for the first time, while the British Airways is scheduling to provide direct flights to Montego Bay in mid or late October!
I personally hope that Jamaica is able to go through toughest moment… To all Jamaicans, let show your spirit to the world!
