Why pandas named Zhou Zhou and Ling Ling make Jamoz go "Yuck yuck"

Did anybody take notice that there were about 30 pandas that were "christened" in China the other day? I tried to avoid stories like this but they were given these names that supposedly matched their personalities and I usually have no emotional stake in these major events however I'm prepared to make an exception as the event was described as a "christening". Am I missing something here? When did these animals take up religion?
