Why Palin is bad for McCain
October 11th 2008 13:43
When Palin mad her first appearance for John McCain, the world went crazy for this mystery lady that the majority of the American people knew nothing about. Then the questions started...and they kept going. Sarah Palin has said she's just an ordinary woman and mother. she certainly has proven that she's ordinary...very ordinary. She seemed to breathe life into a campaign that was faltering and in the very same vein is seemingly sucking all the breath out of the same campaign.
She has been highly criticized for not giving interviews to the media and the few times she has (eg Katie Couric) she has been a public embarrassment. So McCain has decide that she can now only do "softball interviews" on Fox. So those who are fans of Sean Hannity, you'll be seeing a lot of Mrs. Palin. Apparently they won't even risk her on O'Reilly.
The news today is that she did act innapropriately (although not illegal) in the firing of the State Trooper in Alaska, and was chided for being blinded by her personal feelings in her actions.
So where does leave Mr. McCain? It leaves him stranded in a campaign boat that is sinking in a quagmire of poor judgement, low poll numbers and weak management and all the while the juggernaught of Obama pushes on.
In my mind, the only thing that he can do now to try and save what is left of his campaign, and to at least have a respectable scoreline on November 4 (right now it could end up being Obama 45-5) is to take her back to Alaska and leave her there. So what if he loses the Alaskan vote?
If he's serious about becoming President, he needs to lose her fast and go back to a traditional conservative running mate to grab the right wing vote. If he sticks with her, the albatross called Palin will make him lose more than what he ever bargained for.
