Pictures of Dog Tattoos

February 9th 2010 19:39
People memoralize their pets in many different ways. Most just bury them and move on, but you will find some cremate the ashes, and some actually stuff the pet. But, others will get a tattoo to memoralize the pet forever. You just can't forget your favorite dog or dog you lost early tragically if you have something tattooed on your body that reminds you of the dog.

I have done it. My tattoo is of the dog's name and a paw print. I also have another tattoo of my favorite dog breed- American Pit Bull Terrier.

Check out these tattoos that other people have of their dogs and of things that remind them of their dog. There are different ways to grieve, and getting a tattoo is one of them.

Choosing Bridesmaid Dresses

February 9th 2010 17:22
When planning your wedding, your dress is pretty important, but you have to consider the dresses of your bridesmaids. You don't want to be the bride that makes her friends wear hideous dresses, and you don't want to be the bride who just doesn't care.

Be nice about this. Please don't make your bridesmaids where neon pink dresses that have bright purple bows tied behind their back. It's not flattering the them, and it's not flattering to you or your wedding if you do that.

When choosing bridesmaid dresses, you want to make sure that you keep each person's body type in mind. You want to try to find something that flatters each woman. That said, you don't have to have each bridesmaid in the same dress; just try to stick with the same color and around-about the same length, and you'll be good to go.

When you are looking for dresses, ask your wedding party for their advice. What do they want to wear? That will help prevent choosing ugly bridesmaid dresses, and it will potentially prevent losing your friends over a silly dress.

You want the dresses to match the theme of your wedding, whether you're having a formal wedding, informal, or a true themed wedding. Also, make sure that your bridesmaid dresses provide some contrast to your own, but you still want them to be a similar style and theme. You don't want to be in an elegant gown, and have your bridesmaids in paper sacks.

Coordinate your bridesmaid dresses with the colors of your wedding. You don't want them to blend in, but have them match. If you're colors are white, black, and green, consider having the dresses some shade of green. If you're wedding colors are white and purple, consider a pastel purple color.

Also, consider the length of the dress. If you're having a formal wedding, you want everyone in long, floor length dresses. If it's going to be more of an informal or an outdoor wedding, consider knee length dresses, instead.

Make sure that the dresses are comfortable. Remember they will be standing, walking, and probably dancing in their dresses (unless they change before the reception). You'll want to make sure that your bridesmaids can more around, which is why it's always a plus to have them go to the bridal stores with you so that they can try on the dresses and give you their opinion. You don't have to consider their opinion, but they'd appreciate it if you did.

Don't forget weather, especially if you're having an outdoor wedding. You don't want your bridesmaids to freeze wearing sleeveless gowns out in the 40F degree weather. You may not want long sleeve dresses in your wedding, but keep the health of your wedding party in mind.

Lastly, shop for price. Not all prices will be the same, and there are plenty of options that you can choose from. Check out local boutiques, large bridal stores, wedding expos, specialty stores, online stores, and fashion magazines. Consider layaway when purchasing the dresses; it's convenient and definitely easier on the budget.

Caring for a Greek Tortoise

February 5th 2010 20:59
Greek tortoises are another small tortoise species that are pretty popular pets. They come in a few general colors, that are dependent on their location. For the most part though, you'll find the Golden Greek tortoise and the Iberia Greek tortoise. Both are are shades of mustard yellow, but the Iberia Greek is generally going to have much more brown coloring on the scutes, whereas the Golden is a more solid gold-mustard color.

Greek tortoises average about 6" to 10" in length as an adult.

When housing a Greek tortoise, you'll want to stick with a bare minimum of a 50 gallon rubbermaid storage tote, which is about 4'L x 2'W and about a foot and a half tall. It is ideal to have an outdoor enclosure for the tortoise when the weather permits, but during bad weather, an indoor enclosure will suffice.

You want to use a 50/50 ratio of dirt and sand substrate.

The temperature should be about 90 to 95F at the basking site during the day. You can provide this by using a ceramic heat emitter, but you should also use a UV emitting bulb. You can use the UV tubes, but you'll be spending more money replacing them every 4 to 6 months. The bulbs are heat emitting and UV emitting, which is by far optimal; they're a little more expensive from the beginning, but they last a good bit longer, saving you money in the end.

When feeding the tortoise, you want to offer a high fiber diet with plenty of calcium. You can offer calcium in the shape of a cuttle bone that allows the tortoise to much on it as he needs the calcium. This is actually better than sprinkling calcium powder on the greens because you can actually overdose the tortoise on calcium.

When feeding the tortoise, you want to provide a varied diet of leafy greens, grasses, and weeds. Greek tortoises are grazing tortoises, and do really well when they can eat grasses and weeds.

It's a good idea to use the bag of Spring Mix that you can get from the grocery store, but I would recommend varying the diet as different greens become available. Be careful of feeding too much kale and spinach though. Also avoid iceburg lettuce. Try to include romaine lettuce, endive, radachio, red lettuce, and collards on occasion.

You can also offer dandelions, clover, various grasses, and weeds.

Do not offer fruits or any other vegetables, like squash and carrots. This species does best when fed leafy greens and grasses.

You can supplement the food with TNT from carolinapetsupply.com, as this is a ground mix of fresh grasses and weeds. It won't be like the real stuff, but it's a good start to use every few feedings so that your tortoise can get the nutrients that it needs from the grasses that it may not get regularly.

If you want, you may consider growing a small grass and weed garden that you can pull from as needed. Try some of the following seeds.

Picking out a Wedding Dress

February 5th 2010 17:20
One of the biggest choices that you will probably have when planning your wedding is probably going to be the dress. You want to find something that is going to accentuate your body while making all the girls at the ceremony jealous.

There are many dresses to choose from and many designers making different styles. You don't always have to go with the most expensive one. You will find that there are really nice dresses available for $500, you just have to find the right store that's having the sell. Just remember that you want to price different stores before you make your final decision. Check out wedding expos and larger dress stores, sometimes you'll find better deals than at the smaller boutiques

First and foremost, you may be getting married, but this day isn't ONLY about you! Keep that in mind. Memorize it. Repeat it over and over again. I don't care how long you may or may not have been dreaming about this day, remember that your future husband does have a part in it, too. Your wedding day is a day where you AND your fiance come together in holy matrimony. Get over it, it's not all about you.

Once you can come to grasp with that fact, you can potentially avoid a lot of the bridezilla problems

Horsfield Tortoise Care

February 1st 2010 16:43
Horsfield Tortoises are more commonly known as Russian Tortoises. I personally have two of these buggers and love them to death! If I had the space, I wouldn't mind a few more.

Russian Tortoises are one of the smaller species of pet tortoises, which makes them more popular as pets. But, just because they're a little smaller, ranging from about 6" to 10" as an adult length, that doesn't mean that they can live happily and healthily in a small aquarium

Gothic Purses- Coffin Purse

January 29th 2010 21:53
I haven't seen many people carrying a coffin purse, but they make great gothic purses for those who are into that style. There are many different types that you can choose from with different exterior designs and interior colors and fabrics.

Most of the coffin purses have a clip on shoulder strap that hangs the coffin on its side, as well as a handle

Products to Help Rejuvenate Your Skin

January 28th 2010 21:32
The following are just a few products that you may want to try to help rejuvenate your skin. These products can be found online or at your local drug store or grocery store. There are some more common names on the list, such as Avon Anew and Olay Regenerist, but there are others that aren't quite as common. Some of these are pretty new to me, but according to the results have proven liked and loved by many women across the board. So, if you're tired of buying products that don't work but the commercial made them out to be the greatest, check out these.

Just remember that if you want healthy skin, you want to make sure to use a sun screen, wear clothes that cover your skin when in the sun, try not to smoke, use a moisturizer, eat a balanced diet, and do your best to manage your stress level. Without keeping these five things no amount of skin care products will completely rejuvenate your skin

Agility Jumps and Hurdles for Big Dogs

January 27th 2010 20:39
When it comes to watching small or medium-large dogs in an agility competition, I'd much rather watch the larger dogs. The larger dogs seem to have more of a challenge with the jumps and hurdles because they are set pretty high, of course all adjusted to the height of the dog.

The main hurdles that you'll find include the single bar jump, double bar, triple bar, and the panel jump. These can be purchased for practice at home. But, you'll also find water hurdles in the ground and other hurdles that the dog may have to jump over; but you can't really purchase a hole in the ground filled with water

on Jessica Watson Almost Half Way Home

February 5th 2010 14:56
We're going to have 6 year old children. sailing around the planet by themselves, if someone doesn't put a stop to it. There should be a legal limit at which you're allowed to sail by yourself. As, you get older, you should be allowed to sail a certain distance by yourself, which increased with age, but around the world is a little much.

I think part of it is parents pushing children to be the best and better than the last.

There needs to be limits and laws.

on Types of Ear Piercings

February 2nd 2010 16:16
Cost will vary per location and piercer. Thin cartilage won't heal the pirecing as easily. I have thin-ish cartilage and suffered with my indrustrial until I was recommended by a piercer to just remove it. The piercing would never heal.

Hip piercings are surface piercings. They have a 99.9% rejection rate. They are not recommended as permanent piercings. They are generally just a waste of money because of the location and the type of piercing is going to reject. Consider microdermal implants in that area instead; just remember that if you decided to have them removed it's more of a procedure as your skin pretty much grows through the base to create a more permanent body modification.

on Side Effects of Yaz Birth Control

February 2nd 2010 16:13
Blood clots is a severe side effect. I'm not sure what medications you're saying is different than what I've said.

I have been on Yaz, and experienced some of the side effects, but that doesn't mean that all women will see them.

All birth controls have the same potential side effects. They all affect women differently. Yaz just seems to affect more women than most other birth control contraceptive pills.

on Microdermal Implants

February 2nd 2010 16:07
Rejection isn't as common, but you may experience soreness, redness, and the jewelry will start to push out of the body.

The darkness is probably scarring.

You are at a higher risk of rejection or migration because of the complications early on with the implant.

on Microdermal Implants

January 25th 2010 16:42
It can take over a year in some cases. Healing will vary from person to person. The change in skin may have an effect on the implant. The area can be sensitive, but that will vary from person to person.
