When Things Go Wrong Boy Do They Go Wrong.

Have you seen that television programme (I think it's a BBC production) called Worst Week of My Life (Your Amazon Link)? Well to an extent that has been this past week or so in our household. It started the other Sunday (17th I think was the date) and our boiler making a funny noise. Then the stupid thing went and broke... and then started leaking. My husband is the least DIY minded man you will find (unlike his father), he once put a nail through a gas pipe which luckily had been capped off so no gassing us to death, but yes that sums up his DIY skills. We couldn't work out where the water was coming from so had a mad quick panic call to Super Father-In-Law who promptly jumped in his car and drove down and eventually stopped the leak. Well that was just the start of things.
They say these things always come in threes, well I think that's a big fat lie! The boiler got fixed so we at last had heat and hot running water after two days of none. You'd think that god would think that was enough to drag us through but oh no. What else has happened I hear you ask? I shall list.
1. Boiler broke
2. Toaster broke
3. New hand held hoover broke
4. Food bought and still in date had gone off (a little thing but after days of bad things this made me cry.)
5. Boiler broke again (on Saturday 23rd just as we were leaving to go round my parents)
6. Up all night with our son who was screaming in pain every hour or so and worried he'd have tto spend christmas eve night up at the hospital, which thankfully we didn't.
7. Oh and best of all the crap job our local council done on gating off our alleyway and giving us all keys that don't work!
I'm sure there is more but well my mind is too fizzled over everything else. We still have no heating and hot running water but luckily we'd been good enough boys and girls and Santa bought us some cool presents to sing and dance along to, obviously he'd hear about our lack of heating and thought he'd had a laugh at our expense. We've spent the last few days playng Singstar on my new very pink PS2 and playing Guitar Heroes along with games with our sons toys. We haven't opened up the musical twister game but as the days progress with no heating still I can see that being used in abundance.
I hope everyone here at Orble had a magically Christmas, this year certainly wasn't one I planned as it happened but it's christmas and the time to be jolly.
Happy Belated Christmas and and Early Happy New Year to all.

Mum's Word
I think you need to scratch that one off your list. That one you should have pre-empted.

I'm just having to deal with the new tv we bought yesterday and convincing my husband that I think it's faulty. Life is never easy. *wink*
