When A Hobby...Gets Frightening!
Currently Reading:
Eclipse - Stephenie Meyer & Marley & Me - John Grogran
First and foremost I will start this post with an update on my word count. Nothing to write home about but its something I guess:
26,000
Moving on.
I have decided already what my New Years Resolutions will be. Yep there are two. Although I am not going to share them with you just yet....best to wait till New Years right?
I will give clues as to what they might be in my upcoming December posts. Can you guess?
So, if I had stuck to my original plan and didn't listen to that stupid little writer in my head, I would be up to at LEAST 28,000 words. Why am I not? Simply because the time that should have been spent on my novel, was spent on two short stories. I haven't written a short story since I was in highschool. So for six years I have done nothing but attempt novels. When I say attempt I do mean attempt...I have about six startings of novels sitting on my desk, waiting to be brought past the chapter 3 marker.
Anyway. My thoughts are to leave them alone for a while, let them collect a little bit of dust while I continue on with my novel along with any other short story ideas that pop into my head and then go back to them and polish them up and then, bringing the topic back to my title, might try the very scary attempt at getting them published...EEK!!!
Enough out of me,
Edie
P.S - I just wanted to say thanks to all of you, any of you that read my blog...and more so those who comment and have sent emails. I like to know Im not alone and love that I can learn from you.
I have become a sponge, any book, any conversation, any fleeting moment I take it all in and hold onto it, although now my head is getting very heavy and starting to spill out everywhere. Need one of those Memory keepers like Dumbledore has...oh dear now I've gone and done it...I have mentioned Harry Potter....
that really is enough out of me.
