What's next for the Cleveland Cavaliers?
:
2009 NBA Playoffs
We saw how the Orlando Magics spoiled Cleveland's dream season, and grabbing the other spot in the NBA finals. It's been decided. It's the Orlando Magics vs. the LA Lakers.
You can never blame Lebron James walking out fron the Am-way Arena, never appeared in their presscon, and immediately going to their team's charter. I guess this just goes to show how frustrated he is in their performance.
Performance wise? The Cavs were great all-regular season long. But playoffs games are different. Yes, they won the first two rounds. Not bad! They've improved alot, while beating a tough team like Detroit and a younger team like the Atlanta Hawks. But how many times have we seen the Cavs blowing out big leads which almost cost them the games? And against Orlando, how many times have they led for 20 plus points, only to see these leads fly away in the second half? How many times in clutch moments have we seen those predictable gameplans which only revolved around LBJ?
Well personally, I think coaching stategy is one of the weak points of the Cavs...It seems that all plays are centered to Lebron, making them unpredictable. Match-up adjustments have also been poor for Cleveland. Is it possible that the Cavs make reshuffles in the coaching staff?
The Cavs need a strong big man...I never knew a championship team not having a strong and/ or wise BIG MAN...Shaq's Orlando Magic, Howard's Orlando Magic, Olajuwon's Rockets, Duncan's and Robinson's Spurs, etc.
A BIG MAN is amust...not just big but also strong, quick, and can do the intangibles. Ilgauskas has not done this for the Cavs. Well he can stay in Cleveland, but not as a starter but a back-up. Can the Cavs management recruit a premiere guy come draft day? Or at least negotiate from free agents or trades?
By next season, I expect Mo and Delonte to mature a lot, because of the things they have experienced this play-offs. They will be helpful for LBJ, if LBJ returns to Cleveland.
BUT YOU KNOW WHAT? IF THE CAVS MANAGEMENT CANNOT MAKE NECESSARY MOVEMENTS, THEN LBJ MIGHT BE HEADING TO NEW YORK...
