With his hit album “Lupe Fiasco’s Food and Liquor” he has brought back good music. His music inspires greatness. Kick Push, Daydreamin’, The Cool, and Sunshine, are just some of his great works. The most well known Kick Push, has become the anthem to skateboarders everywhere, because of the cool beat, and clever lyrics that capture the essence of why we skate. But at the same time there seems to be a hidden message about working all your life to achieve happiness. But no matter what you perceive the message to be you will love seeing the world through the talented eyes of Lupe Fiasco.
I wanna be a writer, provoker of thought,
someone who writes some thing and you gotta read it twice.
I wanna write something, something so powerful,
you can't hold back, and you need to respond.
I wanna be hated on, plagiarized, envied,
because my shit’s so nice, other writers wanna copy me.
I want you to want to be like me but be afraid to admit it.
But it’s more than that because mainly I wanna express my thoughts, my views, my opinions.
I wanna write an expression, something that people say so much it becomes overrated.
I want you to remember my name.
But I don’t want my works to be used in any school except college.
Maybe in History but never in English class.
Cause I always thought K-12 was bullshit.
I wanna be an important mind of the early Twenty First Century.
I wanna write shit so head turning that my works are banned in some countries.
I want you to be in shock, because I said something you were thinking but to afraid to ask.
I wish I was secretly 15 right now and when I admitted that I was a youth you still respected my opinion.
I wanna be on talk shows, when controversial shit happens,
I want you to want my take on it.
I want authority figures to ban me, hate me, and march on me, because I speak the truth.
I want writers I respect to respect me.
I want you to ask for one thing, I give you another, but your still happy because it so good.
I want you to remember my name.
