To Tip or Not To Tip?

November 27th 2006 15:27

Maybe I am not tight arse enough or maybe because I work in service I know what it’s like to work hard and get nothing, but I believe in tipping.

The Toilet Wall Scrawl

The temptation, the anonymity, the breaking of the rules or is it just sheer boredom? What do you think it is that drives the toilet wall scrawl?

Dream Diary: The Beach

November 9th 2006 13:54
It was dark, I ran up to the boy in front of me and held his hand. We were on a beach, hardly anyone about, the waves were crashing. There was an elephant ahead, the person riding it was a previous manager from my work who I shouted insults at and proceeded to laugh at how funny they were. I cant really understand why I did this, but soon enough he stated, “Im going to kill you!”

The chase begins, Im running as fast as I can, which in any other dream isn’t fast enough, however in this one, it seemed to be. I find myself in a pitch black building, with curtains and tables running down each hallway. I could hear his footsteps, I locked myself in a little room in the corner. The boy I was with on the beach knocks on the door and tells me he is gone and that he will come back for me in the morning. This boy later turns out to be one of my colleagues, who really is very young indeed. He is the hero of my dream.

Musical Masters in My Mind

November 9th 2006 07:07
As a music lover and appreciator of all kinds of tunes, I thought it was time to create a list. Not a hit list, but a Top Fifteen Song List. I was going to go for ten, but you know as a Libran, I am severely challenged at making these kinds of decisions.

Shop Till You Drop - Love or Hate?

November 7th 2006 14:20

From a very early age I knew I was a shopper, when I saved my pocket money for months to buy a pink bag from Sportsgirl. To this day I do not really like pink in large doses, do you suppose there is a connection? I very quickly became a collector of bags, to the point where my poor mother would slow me down by using her excellent tailoring skills and my father would make ‘bag lady’ jokes at my expense.

I have seen this phenomenon, shall we say, quite a lot around Sydney, including churches oddly enough. However, I felt the need to share the wonder that challenges the very foundation of the English language.

During my last lecture for the year I was given a handout exploring "Common Learning Styles", especially the question that Im sure has come across all our minds, probably more in relation to the beer goggle syndrome - ARE YOU SEEING OR IS YOUR BRAIN DECIDING WHAT YOU SEE?

Watch WOLF CREEK on your TV

Three words to describe this flick. Disturbing, Realistic and Scary. Any horror film would be aiming for that kind of result I would imagine, but none half so successful.

Greatest Fears Realised (Part 2)

November 2nd 2006 21:54
Da, da, daa. I am back to explore what spooks you, me and everyone else. Please do comment, I would like to know your thoughts

One of my dearest friends absolutely hates BIRDS. It all started one charming spring day, back in the times of high school, when most fears are born, hers was definitely birds. A miner bird stole her lunch and since that day they have been her nemesis.

Greatest Fears Realised (Part One)

A topic we can all relate to, I would like to know your greatest fears realised. Epic or not, it is all relative as to what FREAKS you out.

I realise in revealing the following, I expose a lot about myself. But, in the name of research I am willing to take that risk and who knows I may delete some of these infiltrated horrors.

Near and Far: Our Nation's Capital

November 2nd 2006 21:47
Our nations capital, once described by Billy Connolly as ‘the little black cloud that follows you everywhere’.
The Black Clouds of Canberra, taken from Mount Ainslie

There are many great things about Canberra, I fear are not obvious. Sure it is quite a desolate, eerie kind of place to the city dweller. Even I, a previous local, have seen tumbleweeds at a service station and found myself trembling at the knees, or maybe that was a reaction to the icy cold temperature? Nevertheless, I believe there is much beauty within our nations capital. Who can beat the space? There is so much of it.

What is YOUR favourite Sydney Suburb?

November 2nd 2006 21:29

As a north shore resident for a few years now, I have to say Crows Nest is the fridge and I am the magnet. Even after moving out of that glorious suburb, I find it amazing the lengths I go to, to visit my beloved Crowie.
