"Whare are you Gus!!!" <tears>
May 28th 2007 02:19
after one of your owners died, i wanted to go ask about you. it's hard to go up to a man who has just lost his wife of many, many years. especialy one tahts parolized and relied on her to take care of him. i saw you the way i learned she died. i passed by your kennel and there you where holding your red leash, waiting for her to walk you. i guess you dind't know yet atht she had passed and wouldn't walk you anymore. i rolled down my window to say "Hi Gus, hi pretty boy!!" just like i have for the almost 3 years. i should have stopped. i should have asked because now your gone and i don't know where you are. i drive by twice a aday and have since friday and your gone. i keep hoping the next time i pass taht your back and you where just inside with your dad. the more days that pass, the bigger the lump in my throat gets. i have more dogs now then i probably need and tahst another reason i didn't stop. but now your gone and my chest aches. i miss you. do you know my family loved you like you where ours? our road will NEVER be the same drive again. "Are you just away on a well needed vacation?" and you'll be back soon? i hope. or i hope some great person in the family, that loved you took you. i'm sooo afraid you went to the pound. That makes me feel sooo sick. They would put you down because your mean to people you don't know. i've never even petted you and i'm scared because of your bark. but when i go by and say hi, you always have a smile. when you lay there, head sticking out of the dog house, paws crossed looking like an old man in your face. i see me dad. i miss my dad. don't ask me how a dog looks like ones dad, but you did. every sunday, "the only day i'm ever realy up early, because of church," i see that look on your face and see my dad.
"I miss you Gus!!!" Please come back and make my road beautiful again. we're going to ask tomarow about you.

i knew he may have to go to a new home since his only owner left is wheel chair bound.
I'll let you know if i find out whats happened to him. i can still see him with that red leash, watching us pass, waiting for her to come walk him.
Take great care!! Tammy

Oh..... Oh, Tammy....
This is so sad. I hope someone knew the man couldn't look after him and took the poor guy in. I know just what you mean about the road not being the same...
how could it be?
If you find out what happened to him, please let me know. In the mean time, I'll keep my fingers crossed for him and hope he's out playin' in a big yard somewhere.

it's just not the same with-out Gus here. if i know he's living somewhere great where he has more free roam, i'll be sooo happy. They let him run free all the time. atleast a few hours every single day. but after taht he'd go to his kennel, waiting for my hello. <soft smile> Krystina use to buy boxes of treats just for him. dropping them off one or two at a time each week.
"I'll let you all know when i find out!!"
Thanks for your concern!!

i'm gonna keep checking back until i find out. we wondered if the man needed anything too. i know he gets meals on wheels, but maybe there are other things he needs volunteers for.
i'll keep you all posted as soon as i know. They are realy kind people from the times we met them. Kaity knew the wife pretty well and burst out crying when she heard she had died. <frowns> The lady use to have horses and talked baout riding with Kaity some day. Kaity realy took that to heart.
