A Piece of West Virginia in Germany

I really enjoy Eric Flint's series about a piece of West Virginia transferred to 1632 into the middle of the 100 Years War. The story opens with a wedding in the small town of Grantsville, WV. Mike Stearns' sister is getting married to the son of wealthy parents who don't approve of their son's choice of wife.
During the reception, a bright light blinds everybody for a second and the electricity and phone no longer work. Mike is the President of the UMWA, and the members of the Union and the local police chief set out to check out what happened.
Not far out of town they come across a car nosed into a wall of dirt that stretches in both directions as far as they can see. While they're checking out the driver of the car, a young woman dashes across the road, and when they look back the way she came there were two men standing on the top of the wall. They were dressed in armor with antique guns aimed at them. The police chief managed to kill one of the men, but he was shot and he deputized the union men to continue to investigate the situation.
They discovered a farmhouse with a man fastened to the door with knives and other men with armor and antique weapons torturing him. The men took them out and rescued the man and his wife.
The story is about how these modern Americans cope with the situation they find themselves in, and how they changed the history as we know it.
This is another of my favorites and I've also read this one several times. I'd read this one many more times.
