WHAT IS THE PURPLE CHALLENGE?

CAN WE MAKE PURPLE A BUZZ WORD?

Are you tired of trying to work out the ideal keywords for SEO? Want to get some new ideas and have some fun playing with them? Care to join me in an experiment?

Let's take a relatively common color adjective and see if together we can make it a hot buzz word for search engines!

Hopefully along the way we'll generate some traffic for our sites and maybe even raise some money for charity?

So what are the rules and guidelines for THE PURPLE CHALLENGE?

I will be mentioning The Purple Challenge on my Blogs and elsewhere.
Can you do that too? Blog or post on the topic of Purple or anything to do with Purple.

Make it interactive!

Let me know via the Purple Challenge Blog what and when you're posting on Purple Topics. Send us URLS for yours and other older posts you may have found so we can tell other people. Favorite Purple Challenge participants! Send me media reports! Check my sites for new URLS and copy them to yours! SHARE!

The Time Frame is July and August .

Why? The months July and August take their names from Roman Emperors who wore purple! So there's a connection! Two months gives us time for search engines to regularly reset and allows for feedback from any site with a 45 day lag.

Help a Charity!

I will design a few "souvenir" items and put them up on Cafe Press or elsewhere and then donate the profits if there are any sales to local charities.
Can you put up a charity link on your site. Perhaps next to the links list to the other participants with a message like... "These people have joined the Purple Challenge! Support us!"

Here are two idea lists!

One of Keywords and a second of topics that are purple related. Don't forget to send feedback for ideas to add to the list!

Keywords: PURPLE Purple purple Violet Porphry Lilac Mauve Amethyst(ine) Amaranth(ine) Heliotrope Ianthinos. Murasaki is Japanese. Murex is the shellfish that produces a dye. Zi is Modern Chinese for Purple. Plum Lavender Purpura Ianthine Viola Mor Ion Menekse Hamrawi Urujuani Lilla are more "Purple" words!

Topics: Purple as a color of a flower of leaf or dye. The Color Purple, the novel by Alice Walker, Purple Rain the album by Prince, the Hulk's Purple pants, the wearing of the purple by Roman and Byzantine emperors, the meaning of the term Purple-born in the Byzantine Empire, the murex shellfish, the city of Tyre, Lady Murasaki the Japanese Heian writer, whose name meant purple, words that mean purple in other languages, how Lilac, originally a Arabic and Farsi word, got borrowed into English, Ultra-Violet radiation, Euripides' play Ion, the NeoPlatonist philosopher Porphyry whose name comes from Porphrius which comes from ... you guess it!
