The Advanced Menu Javascript Generator can create rollover menus easily. You should fill in just the font family, font size, font weight, text color, menu bg color, the name of the options, URL and description. It will make a nice rollover menu, and you can copy and paste the code to your webpage. It's very easy.

Send an e-mail to the future!

December 31st 2006 17:48
This is my favourite webtool: futureme.org. This webtool offers a chance to send an e-mail to you to the future! You should fill in your e-mail address, when do you want to be sent the e-mail and - of course - the message, and this cool tool will send you the message in the future at the appointed time.
I thought this tool useless and nice, but now I think it's good to verify your goals in the future.
But you must pay attention your e-mail address not to end.[ Click here to read more ]

If you would display your own icon on the browser address bar when visitors view your web page, it's a nice and usable webtool: FavIcon from Pics.
"Now it's easy to create icons for your web pages with FavIcon from Pics. Simply select a picture, logo or other graphic (of any size/resolution) for the "Source Image" and click "Generate FavIcon.ico"

Free graphics generator

December 29th 2006 02:30
It's easy to make simple logos or banners with Cool Text. If somebody hasn't enough time (or money) for making a complicated graphics, it's a good alternative. And I think a logo should be simple, for example:

Vista's security(?)

December 27th 2006 21:57
The hackers and specialists have found at least 6 major security flaws in Vista operating system. (The New York Times)
It's a month before Vista's BIG release. (Vista was advertised as the most secure OS.)
"On Dec. 15, a Russian programmer posted a description of a flaw that makes it possible to increase a user’s privileges on all of the company’s recent operating systems, including Vista. And over the weekend a Silicon Valley computer security firm said it had notified Microsoft that it had also found that flaw, as well as five other vulnerabilities, including one serious error in the software code underlying the company’s new Internet Explorer 7 browser

Techbooks for free

December 26th 2006 22:26
I've found a very usable free techbook collection: http://www.techbooksforfree.com. The books are in 9 categories: Linux, Java, Microsoft, C and C , Perl/Python, Science, Networking, Database and Security. My favourite is the Linux category, there are 21 free books, for example Linux Admins Security Guide, Linux Security Howto, Vi iMproved (VIM), The Book of Webmin and Writing GNOME Applications. But it offers - for the "other side" - lots of Microsoft books, for example: Upgrading Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 to Microsoft Visual Basic .NET, Microsoft Smartphone Programming or Teach Yourself ActiveX in 21 Days.

Search the Earth for giant toys

December 19th 2006 00:25
Google Earth's Santa Tracker and Toy Hunt create fun little hunts:

"Hello boys and girls. Ready to find some toys? Santa has hidden a treasure trove of presents somewhere in Google Earth (actually, it was a few of his elves, but you get the idea) . Every day from December 12th until Christmas Eve, a clue will appear outside Santa's North Pole workshop which, if you can solve it, will lead you to a toy hidden in a Google Earth satellite image. And every day, the location of the previous day's toy will be revealed
