ARM WAVE
September 9th 2006 08:55
If you read my previous post you would have pretty much gathered on how to pop your body.
The next step i want to teach you is waving. With this step you can do body waves and arm waves. I use waving a lot when i dance because it really allows me to play around with my moves.
Firstly we will start off with an arm wave.
1. raise both your arms horizontally.
2. raise either your left or right hand, which ever feels more comfortable. You should be able to see the back of your hand when you raise it. Just like you are telling someone to stop.
3. bend your fingers
4. bend your wrist. You should not be able to the back of your hand at this stage.
5. The way your hand is positioned at this moment your elbow is obviously facing away from you. What you need to do is, is to turn your arm so that your elbow is facing the ceiling, pointing upwards a bit. This part is tricky because your hand has to remain in the same position.
6. Push your shoulder forward.
I know, it's a killer!!
7. Push your chest out.
8. raise your other shoulder so that your arm (from shoulder to elbow) is horizontal.
9. extend the rest of your arm but keep your wrist bent.
10. raise your wrist, but not your fingers. When you raise you wrist it should look like your hand is in a fist.
11. then level you fingers.
I know, it sounds very difficult, that's why i have added a link so you can see a demonstration.
