Wasting food

It's been a while since i've posted here and finally I'm back...
Lately I've been so busy with uni and projects that i just TOTALLY forgot about my orble.
Wondering why I'm suddenly back? It's only because I ran into a series of unlucky events today that i'm not at uni.
I woke up early this morning having a good feeling about the day to come...everything was going fine until....after my 30minute walk to the train station i realised i had no money for a train ticket...-_- so i turned around and headed back home....along the way i stepped into a puddle of mud, which TOTALLY spoiled my mood as i was wearing thongs and the icky feeling followed me all the way home....so now i'm sitting here no longer in the mood to do anything but complain...=p
My stomach is grumbling at the moment but im too lazy to go cook something to eat....if only i had a huge steak in front of me...YUM....
This reminds me of an outing i had a few weeks back with my uni friends. We headed down to "Pancakes on the Rocks" for dinner. The meals were HUGE...The thing is, at the end of the dinner i was really dissapointed by the amount of food some of them had wasted. Even though i had a HUGE meal and was really full, i was determined to clean the plate. Maybe it's just a habit of mine. Some people probably had half the plate still full....and still called for dessert after...which resulted in another half-eaten plate. Did they EVER consider all the starving people in the world who would kill to have that half-eaten plate? maybe we are just too fortunate, that we don't realise how lucky we really are. I remember, ever since i was REALLY small, my parents had ALWAYS taught me not to waste food. They'd say stuff like "If you dont finish all the rice, your future husbands face is going to look like the leftovers, all scarred and spotty". I'm pretty sure alot of chinese parents say that to their children too. Even though, at that time, those words didn't really matter to me, as i was more worried about "boy germs" and "girl germs", the main message that got through to me was that "if you waste food, something bad will happen to you". It's kind of like chucking a 100 dollar note into the bin just because you're too rich and your wallet can't fit anymore notes. It's a really stuck up and spoilt thing to do. So, everytime i see someone wasting food, i cant help but cringe, it's sucha stuck up thing to do. What are your views on wasting food?
