I have a theory about human behavior. As a mixed breed (as I was once called) meaning black and Italian, I can cross the lines, I’ dark enough to say nigga. And I always thought the reason black people called each other niggas were to strip the word of any real disrespect or hatred. Because when I say “what’s up nigga” I don’t mean any disrespect, usually it’s to a friend. Just like when a female calls herself a “sexy bitch” she means it in a good way. Actually “my nigga” i.e. “what’s up my nigga” is a term of endearment, so all this time I thought we were trying to take the meaning out of these words, but then if you ever hear a white person say “nigga” he’s bout to get his ass beat. So what are we really trying to accomplish here, to break the hate words, or is it far less deep, for some reason people just like how it sounds.

when I hear some uppity white-coloured person say it in a superior way it riles me but, when I hear it said jovially it warms the very fireplace of my heart.
