The Susan Boyle Phenomenon

If you haven't heard about Susan Boyle, then you must not have a pulse. She's not only taking Brittain's Got Talent(BGT) by storm; she's taking the whole world by storm. People are obsessed with this lady. She's got gazillion hits at Youtube and there's no sign of it slowing down. My question is what is such a big deal??? are people so desperate for inspiration that they're all spending their time admiring and cheering this lady on? okay two questions sorry. don't forget about your own family people. don't forget to smell the roses and exercise and drink milk. don't forget about work--I wouldn't want anyone to lose their job over this, considering the fact that the economy is so fragile and some of us are already holding on by a very "thin" thread. umm okay I can't really just ask two questions about this. I'm full of questions today. Could this be a ploy by BGT to increase exposure and bring their program to the attention of the world? I would hate for them to use such a humble lady for this. And if it was, they pulled it off nicely with such great acting how they were all so shocked she was so good. But if it was all genuine, I end with this note, as one of the judges, Amanda, said, "this is the biggest wake up call ever" so don't prejudge people. you never know, a nice old lady down your street might have what it takes to bring the world to her knees and the boy or girl you picked on last week might save your life or change the world someday.
