I came across this very useful post at the Google Blogoscoped written by Philipp Lenssen. This is an excellent article with some basics for Search Engine optimization and is a must read for every blogger. The article is broken into three parts viz:-
1. Create good content:
Here he talks about why a good content is required since search engines mainly understand text and gives some basic tips about building a good content and more.
2. Make your content accessible:
Here he talks about how the HTML needs to be tuned in such a way that the headers carry what you basically want to say and why is it essential to have a good title, using proper mark up and making each page rest on a simple, stable, and quick-loading place.
3. Tell others about your content:
Telling others about your content is all about spreading the word about your website. Some basic tips are provided here on how to go about it.
Apart from these there are some other tips along with 14 “optimization” approaches you should avoid.

There has been a lot of talk about Adsblacklist.com, a site that lists all the MFA (Made for Adsense) sites and am not sure how many of you are already using it and how many of you haven't heard about it yet.
You can register in this site for free and they offer one month free premium membership now. What this service does is to give you a list of MFA sites related to your website. All you have to do is register and then type in the url of your site and then type in the keywords related to your site. Remember to type in all the related tags before you generate the list.
For my website it gave me around 196 MFA sites.
After the list is generated you can log in to your Adsense account and then Adsense setup > Competitive Ad filter and then add the list of sites. Google allows you to add upto 200 sites. This is not against the Google TOS. It takes upto 12 hrs for Google to add the list.
There is a demo available which you can check out without registering. BUt sometimes it does not work and other times it takes a lot of time to generate the list. SO it is better to register.
Check out the Adsblacklist.
Hope this will improve your earnings with a better pay/click.
I don't know how many of you know about this site called Letterpop. I just came across this site very recently and found out that this site offers everyone a chance to create their own creative newsletters for free. You can create newsletters, wedding cards, or any other greeting cards using your own style and creativity.
Users can even upload their own images and then use it with the newsletter. But to do that you need to register. The site was started recently and still in the beta stage and all the users who are signing up now will be upgraded shortly to a free premium account with no limitations for 12 months.
There are currently 14 templates available and users can upload upto 25 images.
You can print, email or even publish your newsletters. Publish means your newsletter will be given a url which you can tell everyone about and thus they can access it over the net.
To send the newsletter or the card you created to a friend you have to create a mailing list and add the user and after that you start sending the cards or newsletter as emails directly from the site.
Now wear your creative hat and start sending your own custom made cards or newsletters.
This tool I stumbled upon at Techcrunch lets you tag everything on your desktop. That way you can tag everything on your desktop and arrange it properly. The tags will simply stick to your files. It only works with Windows XP

How many of us read the End User License Agreement before we install a software? One of the perils of not reading the EULA and installing the software is that you could be agreeing for spywares to be installed along with the software. And that is how the people who install the spyware escapes the law by claiming that the software was installed with the "Informed consent" of the user.

The Russian Mp3 site Allofmp3.com has been sued by the RIAA for a whopping $1.65 Trillion. The RIAA have been trying it's best to shut down the site and so far there has been no success.
The site is legal in Russia but is considered to be illegal in other countries since they don't pay royalties to artistes.Instead of paying royalties to the record labels, they share a cut of its revenue with a Russian licensing group, which according to the owners of the site claims is in complete compliance with local laws

Users of the recently released Firefox 2 are advised to download the updates since Mozilla has released 8 security updates of which 5 are rated critical. However the recent vulnerability which allowed phishing attackers to steal passwords has not been fixed yet. The only solution for this is to disable the password manager.
The users should get an automatic update notification and if automatic update is turned off then use the "Check for updates" option on the help menu. The updates can also be downloaded directly from the Mozilla website. To do that use the following links

Over the internet you tend to meet different types of people and there are times when you wish that you know how the true the person at the other end is. Half of things you listen you listen with an element of doubt and wouldn't it be great if you can erase that element and be on the clear about what kind of person you are interacting with?
