Victorian Premier Out Of Touch
June 26th 2008 05:13
With Socialist governments in power in all states of Australia, it appears to me that they are growing more and more out of touch to the needs and expectations of the public. They say they are consultative and open to differing ideas, but like their Federal leader Kevin Rudd, they actions sit more aligned with that of a politburo. In Victoria where I reside, John Brumby promised upon his taking up the premiership that he would have transparent and consultative government. Well, from his decision to build the De-Sal plant, to the North/South pipeline, he has shown scant regard to his words of just over 1 year ago. He even went so far as to call a group of fellow Victorians "liars", because they dared to oppose his edict that this pipeline is needed. Regardless of what you think of the pipeline, this premier is on the nose. Regrettably, the opposition has yet to secure the services of a leader in touch with the needs and aspirations of the people. A leader who can capture their attention and show he or she understands their daily struggle. Until such time as this occurs, we are stuck with this out of touch arrogant premier in Victoria. For the benefit of my state, I hope this is not too long. The people of Victoria didn't want Brumby back in 1996, and I feel with every day that goes by now, we cannot afford a premier that blames the people of Victoria for the state problems. Mr. Brumby, you and your party have had close to 10 years to get it right. You are there by our grace, and indeed you can be removed by our grace.
