Victorian Beaches Killing Some
January 22nd 2012 23:49
The Victorian beaches have been causing chaos amongst those who have visited for some fun and water.
In Black Beach area a mother had trouble fighting a rift with her family. They were dragged out to sea, and the mother drowned. In Frankston a male drowned, and also another death has been recorded in Port Sea.
People are being warned to go to beaches where life savers are, and to swim in-between the flags. Not to go out to places where they might find it hard to be saved.
The mother and her family had been found 400 metres away from shore. This is what a rift can do, drag a person out far from shore and cause panic and drowning.

Perhaps a few commercials funded by Surf Lifesaving on 'what to do in a rip' could help.
