VENUS

A worthy mix of cringing at an aging man who lacks boundaries, an artist, an actor, chalming, and dying, oggling, touching and falling prey to a young woman's greed and apparent lack of morals alongside a healthy kick in the teeth of no self worth as motivation for her past actions, accompanied by the stellar aging pals whose quick self obsession, and career driven friendships make for great humor in front of the theatre curtain.
Peter O' Toole (Maurice) is a beautiful looking man that deserve a lifelong parade of women swooning, and his performance, alongside that of Jodie Whittaker (Jessie/Venus), Leslie Phillips (Ian) the hypochondriac, and Kathryn Bradshaw as Maurice's wife, and Richard Griffiths' little cameo, all makes for a splendid, unexpected love story based on true beauty.
