Vegetarianism: Celebrity comeback

Let’s face it, vegetarianism has had a revival. From Victoria Beckham to Richard Gere to Pamela Anderson, who claims that her fabulous sex life is caused by her healthy diet, vegetarianism is in. What was once considered strange and faddish is now touted by health experts and even recommended by doctors worldwide. Along with the phenomenon has come an explosion of books, cookbooks, magazines and articles on the subject. This has also led to a creation of a whole new market for yoga classes, yoga books, yoga music, and quick to create a whole new line of yoga gear are brands like Nike and Adidas. So my question is this: why is something that has been practised by the Hindus since yonks not as popular as something adopted by the likes of Christy Turlington?

Stars have the power, don't they? Let a few famous people "advertise" and everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon.

My family is vegetarian, so I'm diggin' your blog! Thanks for the great recipes!

You're right Wendi, it's all about the marketing, although I doubt we are going to see a new craze of girls walking around with shaved heads ala Britney Spears.

Glad you're enjoying the recipes, they say a family that eats together, stays together!
