Urban Lumberjacks

October 18th 2011 17:29
A new buzzword (or two rather) is being spoken in the cities: Urban Lumberjack. These reincarnations of Paul Bunyan aren't just city dwellers with plaid shirts and stocking caps, they're people who are concerned about the environment and have started a unique--an popular--movement of recycling.

Lumberjack, Trees, Cutting, Wood

Urban Lumberjacks strive to recycle used wood. Using found materials and reclaimed materiel is not new, in fact, it's a cornerstone of American ideology. Think of all the resale and antique stores we have in this country! Urban Lumberjacks reside in a niche that revolves around reclaimed/used wood that is found in urban settings. They dumpster dive or stop on roadsides to grab the valuable piece of old wood.

If you would like to know more about Urban Lumberjacks or would like to become one, I strongly recommend reading sustainablog's article: Really Long Link
