VAN PERSIE SET FOR FITNESS TEST
Robin van Persie will have a fitness test on his injured ankle ahead of Arsenal’s Barclays Premiership clash with Manchester United on Sunday.
The Holland forward is rated as having an '80 per cent' chance of being available by manager Arsene Wenger.
Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor is now fully match fit but Gilberto will start a three-match suspension, so Mathieu Flamini is in contention to step into midfield.
Centre-back Johan Djourou (hamstring) is not available, nor is Alexander Song, away on Under-20 international duty with Cameron.
Right-back Emmanuel Eboue has recovered from his ankle problem to rejoin the squad.
Freddie Ljungberg (hamstring) and William Gallas (thigh) both remain a couple of weeks away from fitness.
United have no fresh injury worries ahead of the trip to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Defender Wes Brown returns to the squad following a virus that forced him to miss the victory over Aston Villa at the weekend.
Sir Alex Ferguson has a number of attacking options - United have scored 52 goals in 23 games - but may stick with the partnership of Wayne Rooney and Henrik Larsson.
Arsenal (from): Lehmann, Eboue, Toure, Senderos, Clichy, Hleb, Fabregas, Flamini, Rosicky, Henry, van Persie, Almunia, Adebayor, Baptista, Diaby, Djourou, Hoyte, Aliadiere.
Manchester United (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Ronaldo, Scholes, Carrick, Giggs, Rooney, Larsson, Saha, Solskjaer, Park, Brown, Heinze, O’Shea, Fletcher.
