Robert Petrie VS Ward Cleaver

WardvRob
Who's TV's Toughest dad?

Ward Cleaver Vs Robert Petrie

They were two of the best known Dads in the 1960s, and if you were a kid in the 60s you looked up to one or the other. One was the American as apple pie, the other was a triple threat, who could sing dance and act. We've all seen either “Leave it to Beaver” or “Dick Van Dyke” any many have asked, if these two great American dads were to get into a knock-down drag-out brawl, who would come out the winner? Let's check the stats and see who wins the title of “TV's Toughest Dad”

Tale of the Tape

Ward Cleaver
Height: 6.1
Weight: 205
Hometown: Mayfield, USA state unknown
Age: Never revealed, likely late 30's

Robert Petrie
Height: 6.4
Weight: 195
Hometown: New Rochelle New York
Age: Varies during the series, likely mid 30's

Occupation

WC: Never specified. Several references to an “Office”but nothing specific. Some speculate it's an insurance office. I believe that the reason he speaks vaguely to his family about what he does (and is often “out of town on business”) is that he he's either involved in top secret government work, or organized crime.

RP: Head writer for the Alan Brady Show

Skills:

WC: Wise, and well educated mentor to his two sons. Able to keep calm and collected no matter how potentially upsetting the situation his Kids has gotten into. Handyman skills, well enough to do household repairs such as fixing sinks and building birdhouses.

RP: Quick witted comedy writer, skilled dancer, singer and all around performer. Can do Pantomime routines, impersonations and harmonize effortlessly with other performers. Excellent golfer and pool player.

Strengths

WC: While not ex-military it' said he served with the US merchant Marine See Bees during World War 2 and likely possesses some combat experience. Possible US spy training and/or mob ties

RP: Very Physically fit, does 20 pushups a day, it's reasonable to say he has impressive stamina. A Military veteran, while it was in peacetime, this must mean he's had some combat training.
Weaknesses

WC: Apparent lack of aggression, while he is stern with his kids when necessary, he seems like something of a pushover. Lacks a certain fighting spirit that seems evident in Robert Petrie. Appears sluggish and heavy on his feet, a pipe smoker he could become winded easily.

RP: Described by his wife as a “Tripper” ie: prone to loss of balance. While physically fit, he seems to be a bit frail as punching a speed bag hurts his hand in one episode. Not actual combat experience, his time in the military was spent organizing USO events.

Verdict:

Ward Cleaver: 7-1
Robert Petrie: 1-1

This one could be close, both are comparable as far as height weight and reach but Rob Petrie's superior physical conditioning would be the deciding factor here. Ward is somewhat stocky, probably a heavy hitter but Rob is a dancer, and this superior footwork and Stamina. While this fight wouldn't be decided by one blow, it would come down to stamina which Rob Petrie has in spades. I give even money on Rob Petrie, with the underdog being Ward Cleaver.

Don't be shy folks, wanna see a showdown? Let me know the combatants and I'll set the odds.

Tony Jaa VS Tony Tony Chopper

ANime, Tony Jaa, Martial arts
Which Tony Will come out on Top?

One is a magical animated reindeer from the popular Anime series "One Piece" who amazingly cute, the other is a international martial arts superstar who . . .well let's say he's anything but adorable. What do these combatants have in common? Both are called “Tony” and both beat the snot out of their share of the bad guys. Who's got what it takes to be the winner? It's Reindeer vs human,, Antlers vs. Elephants, Mui Thai Vs Rumble ball, let's get this battle started!

Tale of the Tape

Tony Jaa
Height: 5.6
Weight: 175 lbs
Hometown: Surin, Thailand
Age: 34

Tony Tony Chopper
Height: Varies depending on form, usually 2.4
Weight: Varies Depending on form, usually 50 lbs
Hometown: Kingdom of Drum, Drum island
Age: 13

Occupation:

TTC: Ship doctor for the Straw Hat Pirates
TJ: Martial artist, Elephant Wrangler

Skills:

TTC: Talented doctor, trained by Dr Kueha on Drum Island, well known as the home of the best doctors in the One Piece world.

TJ: Detective stills, acrobat, some wilderness survival, knows how to rear Elephants. A skilled Dancer, experienced in the use of explosives and good at disguises. Can also drive a Tuk-tuk with ease.

Strengths:

TTC: Consumed a Zoan-type devil fruit, a magical fruit that allows him to use three basic transformations, one fast, one strong, one highly intelligent. In his strong form (Heavy point) He's strong enough to tear the mast off of a pirate ship. With a rumble ball Chopper gains four more transformations, enabling him to jump impossibly high, break steel with his hooves , find any opponent's weakness as well as a “Guard Point” that makes him almost indestructible.

TJ: A master of several martial arts disciplines, including Mui Thai, Mui Boron, Capoeira, Brazilian Ju-jitsu, Judo, long fist style Kung fu and Snake Style Kung-fu. Proficient in a number of weapons, including chains, swords, staffs and spears. Ability to adapt to an opponent's style and fight back efficiently. Near super-human ability to withstand punishment, and incredible stamina.

Weaknesses:

TTC: Chopper is somewhat cowardly and unsure of himself in battle, usually needs a very good reason to fight and even then he tends to frighten easily. In a stand up fight against a skilled opponent, his lack of confidence would keep him from using his strengths efficiently. Because Chopper consumed the cursed devil fruit, he is totally unable to swim and he will drown if he falls into water. This could be exploited by a clever enough opponent.

TJ: Despite his incredible skills as a fighter, Tony prefers to avoid fighting is possible. Unless there is a serious perceived danger to him, his family or his elephants (you read that right) he would never pick a fight. While he's an amazing fighter he's still a flesh a blood human and we must take this into account, considering some of Chopper's more violent attacks are enough to render even super-human opponents bloody and near death.

Verdict:
Tony Tony Chopper 10-1
Tony Jaa: 5-
1

Neither of these combatants are prone to jumping meaninglessly into a fight, between Tony's sense of honor, and Chopper's cowardice it would be doubtful they could be made to fight at all. If they did however, Tony Jaa's bravery and ability to think on his feet would give him the best chance of winning. While Chopper has incredible attacks, capable of tearing holes in battleships, none of that matters if he fights skittishly and allows Tony's agility and genius tactics to come into play. Chopper could surprise, due to his variety of forms and superior strength, but the odds still tip in Tony Jaa's favor.

If you have an idea for a good battle between anybody, real, fictional or original, let me know and I'll square them off here at ultimate Battle!
