just kidding. She doesn't have her lisence yet, but we did take her driving today!! <soft smile> just on some secluded roads. driving,or atleast doing so without being super nervouse, has been hard for Kaitlyn. i feel bad because she wants her lisence sooo bad. i tell her, "we're all differnet, and not everyone does everything in the same time frame." bless her heart, she shakes like crazy even on a dead end, rock road. <soft smile> she'll get it though.
Kaitlyn Driving!!
we had an awesome day today. driving with Kiatlyn and then a day out at Ohiopyle Waterfall and natural slide. The natural slide was too fast from spring rain, so no riding down in, but the hike, the veiw, the rock climbing [not real rock climbing <grins> was jsut wonderful.

i love ther energy here. it's only 30 minutes from our house. There are 3 great places to go here. this water slide, a wonderful 30ft water fall and a big water rafty part. there are also other things like kayaking, campgrounds, even a tube hill for winter.
ok i gotta go. we're getting ready to jump in the hot tub before watching Schindlers List [whatever}. we worked in the garden some tonight too. got the fence post in and will stretch the fence onto it tomarow. got about 10 mammoth sunflowers in before they died. they where the biggest ones, and bursting from there cup.

Kaitlyn will get there. I hated driving and didn't even want to get my license when I was younger. I got so nervous. But then once I got my license....damn I loved driving.

Getting a license is such a bittersweet experience for most moms. On one hand we don't have to be a taxi driver and on the other hand we miss all of the "intimate moments" driving our kids around.

My sister was like that, terrified to drive. My brothers had no problem, I adjusted okay, but put my sister behind the wheel and it was a major freak out moment. She was all start and stop, but not gracefully, and once backed the car (gently) right into a tree. It would have been funny if I wasn't in the car.
I love Ohiopyle. If I lived near there, I think I'd be there all the time! I'm hoping I get a chance to make another trip while the weather is perfect for it, but I'm not holding my breath. The way things are going for me right now, I think all travels are going to stop at the end of July and I'll spend the autumn and winter nestling in at home.

with Kaitlyn i'm realy just working on a dead end, no traffic road. having her drive up alittle, pull to the side, and stop, take off, drive up, pull over and stop again. teaching her the stopping is number one right now and how to pull over without going in a ditch. having her back down the road and then do it all again. it'll be awhile before we're on the road. we don't even have her permit yet, but like i said, we're not on a road. you only get your permit for soo long, so we're waiting until 1. she can pass the book test. which she's getting better. 2. she can do the above without shaking like crazy.
she'll get there!!!
