Tuesday Night NBA Play

December 4th 2012 21:42
Recap from last night: Overall it wasnít a horrible night but I made one bad choice which hurt my fantasy basketball team. That is the main issue with fantasy basketball. If you have one guy who does not perform up to par then you night could be going downhill quick. Last night mine was Alonzo Gee who finished with just 10 fantasy points. Well I move onto tonight and take a look at what I like.

Andray Blatche vs. Oklahoma City: Blatche comes with a very cheap price tag as he will get fourth straight start for the injured Brook Lopez. Over the last three games Blatche is averaging 29.3 fantasy points per game in about 30 minutes of action. Blatche gets matched up with Kendrick Perkins from OKC tonight who has struggled at times shutting opposing centers down. Oklahoma City is allowing 38 fantasy points per game to opposing centers. It is hard not to take Blatche tonight with such a small price tag and has the potential to meet above expectations.

Nikola Pekovic vs. Philadelphia: If you do not trust Blatche then you should look at Pekovic. Pekovic will be priced a tad but more than Blatche but he does have a favorable matchup tonight. Pekovic takes on a Philly team that is ranked in the bottom five for fantasy points allowed to opposing centers. Philly is allowing 40.4 fantasy points per game to opposing centers and now has to take on Pekovic who has three double-doubles in the last five games in which he has averaged 28.8 fantasy points the last five games.

David West vs. Chicago: David West has really taken on a much larger role as of late and has shown he can handle it. West is averaging 36 fantasy points per game his last five games. West takes on a Chicago team that is allowing 37.8 fantasy points per game to opposing power forwards. Carlos Boozer has struggled against some of the better power forwards this season and tonight should be no different against West who is really heating up right now. His price tag is reasonable with a positive upside for tonight.

Metta World Peace vs. Houston: All the talk about the Lakers has been Kobe, Dwight, Gasol and Nash I guess most people forgot to mention Metta in that conversation. Metta is putting together a decent season fantasy wise which should continue against a Houston team that ranks 24th in the league for fantasy points allowed to small forwards (35.6 PPG). Metta face Houston once this season in which in which he has 21 fantasy points in 29 minutes. He is averaging 36 minutes per game this season so look for him to be on the court a bit more tonight which should lead to a few more fantasy points. Odds makers put a high total on this game so they believe it will be a shootout Metta should be a decent option with a reasonable price tag.

Kevin Love vs. Philadelphia: How can you not want Kevin Love on your fantasy team? The guy is a double-double machine with most nights going over 20 points and at least 15 boards. Love whom is averaging 40.3 fantasy points per game through six games thus far does have a tough matchup tonight. Philadelphia is one of the tops in the league for containing Power forwards allowing just 32.6 fantasy points per game to power forwards. Love went for 36 fantasy points on last seasonís matchup in which he had 20 points and 15 boards. Kevin Love is not your typical Power Forward he is away above everyone else. He should be worth the price tag on him tonight.

George Hill vs. Chicago: Chicago is hurting defensively at point guard right now with Derrick Rose is sidelined. The Bulls are allowing 34.2 fantasy points per game to point guards and now have to try and slow down the red hot George Hill tonight. Over the last three games Hill is averaging 21 points per game, 5 assists per game and 4 rebounds per game. His Turnovers have been down the last few games averaging just 1 turnover per game the last five games. Hillís price tag is reasonable and has a chance to have a great night against a struggling Bulls team.

Jrue Holliday vs. Minnesota: Holliday is the scoring leader on this Philly team and now gets a chance to show why against the 3rd worst team in the league for allowing most fantasy points to point guards. Holliday who is averaging 34.8 fantasy points his last four games could be in for a big one tonight. In last seasonís meeting Holliday had 32 fantasy points and that was with Ricky Rubio containing him how is Luke Ridnour going to slow down the much quicker Holliday. This is one guy who should definitely be worth his money tonight.

Jimmy Butler vs. Indiana: If you are trying to stack your lineup with guys like Lebron, Wade, Kobe, Durant and so on then you will need a few guys who can make an impact at a very cheap price. Here is one of those guys. Butler will see an increase in minutes tonight with Richard Hamilton being sidelined with a foot injury. Butler gets himself a decent matchup against an Indiana team that is allowing 34 fantasy points to shooting guards this season. Like I said if you are looking to stack then Butler could be a steal for you.

Hope this info is able to help all of you when setting your lineup today. Usually I try and get this info out earlier but I have been running some new formulas on calculating point predictions in hopes that it is able to help us set out lineups.

Good Luck Everyone!
