Truth is hard as nails
April 16th 2009 05:39
truth is being an infant with visions of crucifixion in your mind
from day dot.
truth is being real with yourself and saying
the best deal I can get in this life is crucifixion
I may as well start preparing now
truth is suckling your mother’s breasts and going
I don’t want to see her stand at the foot of the cross
truth is going
I’d rather suffer alone and spare her
truth is going
let’s share the suffering
and both look at each other through bloodstained eyes
Truth is as contradictory as it is real
We will never get our heads around the mysteries of God
Bleed for me
truth is rooted in charity
it’s about sharing the suffering
even if you’re more inclined to sparing the other person
truth is even harder than nails
nails only pierce the body
try a bit of suffering in your soul
and all bodily torture will seem like a walk in the park
you’ll pray for crucifixion
just to take away the mental torment
If you think people suffer in the body?
Try a bit of soul torture.
As the great St Thomas Aquinas said, the biggest suffering a soul goes through in hell is remorse. The continual, recurring thought for all eternity that he has sold his soul for some fleeting pleasure.
He says it eats away more at the soul than the flames of hell burn the body.
And to me? He knows what he’s talking about. The modern philosopher is not worthy of being named in a sentence where the word philosopher is used.
The modern philosopher is continually trying to justify escaping from suffering, when that is man’s lot in life. Even the rich suffer.
Anyway, that’s enough philosophy. I need another beer.

Well, that's nice comment. I think I have the odd occasional deep thought.
In fact I can't even remember when I last had a shallow thought. Oh hang on.
As for greatness? God's spirit blows where it will. He even uses satan to promote His aims some day.
I'll tell you right now. Greatness and my name don't belong in the same sentence. But God can make a donkey speak if He wants to.
I was graced and blessed with a love of literature but that does not equate to greatness. But it was nice of you to give me a compliment, so I'll take it in the spirit it was intended and pass the thanks on to the author of everything good.
Stuff, I nearly relapsed into humility.
