Christmas Cheer Cringing

I trust you all had a happy Christmas, or Hannukah, and will have a safe and lucky New Year's Eve! Following is my contribution to the Christmas spirit; done in my slightly obsessive compulsive way, using poetic devices, in particular alliteration, that being the same sound or letter at the beginning of words within the same line of verse, or sentence. I also employed a liberal dose of assonance, that being the end syllable sounding the same; here I have used identical syllables at the end of each verse line, a most unusual occurrence in my style of writing, usually the reserved domain of doggerel poets, however, I felt the sub-text demanded it be so.
