June 19th 2002 is when TNA's Slammiversary was first on our screens. Tonight TNA Slammiversary is TNA Wrestling's eighth annual pay-per-view, the biggest event of the summer and we begin the show with a video of how some of the biggest names in pro-wrestling have made TNA Wrestling what it is today. Tonight we will see some of the best wrestler's in the industry fight it out. The history is here, the memories are waiting. The pay-per-view that is eight years in the making... Slammiversary.
Kaz vs. Kurt Angle
In the matches early going Mike Tenay and Taz remind us that this match has come about after Kurt Angle made the decision to challenge himself and work his way up the rankings in TNA's Top Ten ranking system. The audience chant 'let's go Angle' as Kurt and Kaz exchange quick moves off the ropes early on and cancel each other out. Kaz then has control with a headlock, Kurt reverses but only for a moment as Kaz springboards from the ring apron to hit a missile dropkick on wrestling's only Olympic Gold Medalist. As Kaz goes to pick up Kurt, Angle manages to go behind Kaz and put on a couple of German suplex's. Kaz though hits a Ric Flair-like low blow on Kurt Angle, but the referee sees it and goes to call for the bell. Kurt Angle though stops him and insists he wants the match to continue. Kazarian is indifferent to this and the match continues. Kurt eventually falls to ringside and Kaz goes flying over the ropes right into the face of Kurt Angle. Back in the ring the two competitor's exchange blows and Angle hits a belly-to-back suplex. Then after another exchange, Kurt hits a belly-to-belly. An excellent match, perfect way to kick off Slammiversary as Kurt Angle hits Kazarian with a powerbomb into a pin. Kaz kicks out, but Angle immediately locks in an Ankle Lock for the first time. Kaz though reverses and rolls him up - another near fall. Back and forth these competitor's go as the fans chant 'this is awesome' when Kaz hits a slingshot DDT from the apron right onto Angle in the middle of the ring. Kurt Angle though, upon getting up manages to get Kaz from behind and amazingly Angle hits four German suplexes! Kurt pulls down the straps and signals for the Ankle Lock, but Kaz counters, gets up and pulls off a modified Alabama-type Piledriver right onto the "bean" of Kurt Angle. Kaz goes for a cover and Angle kicks out. These two exchange near fall after near fall and Angle even manages to pull off an Angle Slam, but Kaz kicks out! Another exchange, back and forth but Angle finally has the Ankle Lock on Kazarian and after dragging him to the middle of the ring, Kazarian finally taps out!
Winner: Kurt Angle!
After the match Kurt raises his hands to signify the number nine, as he has knocked off number ten ranked Kazarian. One down, Nine to go for the Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle.
Mike Tenay and Taz spend some time wishing all those at TNA a happy anniversary as they have been with the company since TNA Wrestling first started. People like Jeff Jarrett, Don West and of course Mike Tenay himself. Happy Anniversary.
The first Title match of the night is about to begin.
TNA X-Division Championship match
Brian Kendrick vs. Douglas Williams (c)
The match starts inside the ring with it going pretty even, but the two competitor's hit the outside and Williams soon gets on top. He dominates Kedrick on the outside for a while and then back in the ring. The fans don't like Williams as he slows down the pace and the commentary team tell of how Williams doesn't like the high-flying ways of the X-Division. The match goes back and forth with another spell on the outside with Kendrick adhering to traditional X-Division ways. Kendrick shows a lot of heart in his performance as Williams puts on some excellent wrestling moves on Brian Kendrick. Willaims goes for the Rolling Chaos Theory but Kendrick counter's it by biting Williams' hand. Soon after Williams goes high risk and hits a Tornado DDT off the top rope! One, Two, Three!
Winner: Douglas Williams!
Mike Tenay and Taz tell that Douglas Williams has been a bit of a hypocrite here tonight by winning the match in a very X-Division way.
We cut backstage to Christy Hemme who talks to Eric Bischoff w/Ms Teschmacher. Bischoff says that he can't believe what Sting has done over the past few months. He also says that he believes Sting is all about himself, whereas Champion RVD is someone to be proud of.
TNA Women's Knockouts Title match
Roxxi vs. Madison Rayne (c)
Before the match begins Madison gets on the mic and tells of how the Beautiful People have been the most dominant women in the Knockouts division for the past two years. The crowd boo as Taz says "Shut up for God sakes" on commentary. Madison Rayne then challenges Roxxi to put her career on the line like Tara, after saying that Roxxi didn't really 'earn' a Title shot anyway. Roxxi accepts, but Madison cloncks her with the microphone. Roxxi is busted open! Injury-prone perhaps, but this is a female competitor who's face is soon completely covered in blood. The fans back Roxxi somewhat, but most are still amazed by the amount of blood pouring from Roxxi. Roxxi though gets some momentum and manages to hit the Voodoo Drop - not once, but twice! The first time Roxxi gets the two-count and the second time Madison drops to ringside because of such impact. Roxxi goes to ringside to get Madison back in the ring, but just like that Madison hits her signature move and Roxxi's career in TNA Wrestling is done!
Winner: Madison Rayne!
Madison has no sympathy as Roxxi is overcome with emotion having just lost her job here at Slammiversary.
Student vs. Teacher
Jesse Neal vs. Brother Ray Dudley
Brother Ray begins by getting on the microphone and telling Devon to join him out there. Tenay and Taz tell of how Devon has been trying to play peacemaker in all of this between Brother Ray and Jesse Neal. As Devon comes out, so does Shannon Moore - past Devon and into the ring to back Jesse Neal. Devon comes in and Brother Ray goes on to say that he owes everybody an appology. He says that Devon talked a lot of sense into him over the past couple of days and Shannon Moore was right when he called Brother Ray a bully. Brother Ray appologises to Shannon man-to-man and Shannon exits. He then appologises to Devon and Jesse Neal. Brother Ray, Devon and Jesse all exit the ring only for Brother Ray to turn his back on his appology and attack Jesse Neal, launching him back into the ring from the walkway. The referee begins the match and Devon is pissed, yelling at Brother Ray and trying to get at him! The ref then asks security to get Devon away from ringside! The commentary team tell of how that appology probably meant the most to Devon and Brother Ray has just turned his back on his long-term patner like that. Brother Ray meanwhile simply dominates Jesse Neal. The fans boo like hell and Brother Ray hits many open hand slaps on the chest and even the back of Jesse Neal. Brother Ray is on top for a long time, but the student manages to get to the teacher with some moves off the ropes, he even manages to get a near fall - but Brother Ray reverses later on to get a Bubba-Bomb on Neal from behind. A slap to the back of neal and we turn our attention to the crowd - shocking arrival of the Innovator of Violence - Tommy Dreamer in the Impact Zone! Brother Ray and Dreamer make eye-contact as the crowd chant 'ECW, ECW.' Brother Ray continues the match to try and hit a senton off the top rope, Jesse Neal rolls out of the way and gets up to hit Brother Ray with a Spear!
Winner: Jesse Neal!
Tommy Dreamer exits to the back on his own while Brother Ray bemoans the loss of the match.
Backstage Christy Hemme interviews Super-Mex who is in great shape coming back from his three-month injury lay-off. Hernandez says that Matt Morgan made a mistake by injuring him a few months back and tonight Morgan will get what's coming to him.
Matt Morgan vs. Hernandez
Matt Morgan comes out in street gear and a neck-brace. He gets on the mic and tells that he had been jumped from behind by Hernandez and he has an injured neck and he won't be able to compete hear tonight. Morgan then hands the referee a Doctor's note apparently saying that he cannot compete due to injury. Morgan goes to exit the ring and half way down the ramp Super-Mex's music hits and Morgan bumps into Hernandez who batters him and bombards him into the ring! The match is set to go ahead as the referee rings the bell despite the Doctor's note. Hernandez pounds on the seven-foot Matt Morgan. Hernandez backs off for a moment, but this is a mistake as Matt Morgan attacks Hernandez, suckering him in and the two of them fall to the outside. Morgan does a number on Hernandez and focusses on the shoulder of Hernandez. He gets him back in the ring and then continuously throws him shoulder-first into the ring-post. Matt Morgan spends a lot of time on top from here on out, but Super-Mex eventually hits boiling point and uses his strength and power to gain the upper hand on Matt Morgan. Hernandez then takes off his shirt to wrap it around Morgan's neck and torture Morgan. The referee continuously warns Hernandez of a DQ, but Hernandez doesn't care and he tosses Brian Hebner aside. Hernandez continues the assualt on Morgan with the aproval of the fans.
Winner by way of Disqualification: Matt Morgan.
After the match Hernandez takes Matt Morgan to the outside and ets him up for a boot to the head by the ring-post, but Brian Hebner got himself in the way, taking the bullet for Matt Morgan. Hernandez is appologetic while Morgan gets in the way and Earl Hebnar comes out to check on his son.
Backstage Christy Hemme interviews Hulk Hogan who says that he guaruntees that he won't allow this pay-per-view to end the same way in which Sacrifice ended last month brother!
Monster's Ball match
Desmond Wolfe w/ Chelsea vs. Abyss
Monster's Ball rules which pretty much means no rules at all as Desmond Wolfe begins the match swinging a kendo stick. Abyss avoids contact and we're under way with steel chairs, trash cans and even a bright white teddy-bear surrounded by barb wire. Abyss gives the teddy to Chelsea and Abyss then gets into the ring to pour out a familiar black bag that is filled with sharred glass! Wolfe escapes the ring after avoiding a possible chokeslam by Abyss. At ringside Wolfe hits Abyss with a kendo stick and the two of them go past the walkway toward the commentary table. Wolfe goes to finish off Abyss, but The Monster reverses and then grabs Wolfe by the throat and chokeslams him right into the boarding below the commentator's! The fans go crazy as do Tenay and Taz! Abyss then literally drags Desmond Wolfe to the ring and goes for the cover only for Wolfe to get his foot on the rope! Abyss in full control then goes to get a board that is covered with barb wire. He sets it up in the centre of the ring and then he takes Wolfe toward the turnbuckle and attempts to suplex him onto the barb wire board. Wolfe though reverses and Abyss goes back first into the barb wire and The Monster gets viciously carved up by the barb wire! Wolfe is then on top, whacking at Abyss with a kendo stick and after a shot to Abyss's back, The Monster drops face first into the sharred glass! Wolfe goes for a cover and Abyss kicks out. Wolfe then goes to Chelsea and asks that she hand him her purse. After some time she does and there's nothing inside! "Where's the knucks?" yells Wolfe as he demands Chelsea give him the brass knucks. Chelsea then does slide in the knucks, but not to Wolfe, but to Abyss! Abyss hits Wolfe with the knucks sending Wolfe against the ropes and then nails him with the BlackHole Slam!
Winner: Abyss!
Backstage Christy Hemme interviews Rob Van Dam and the TNA World Cahmpion says that he fully intends to keep hold of the TNA Title because after all he's the Whole F'n Show!
AJ Styles w/ Ric Flair vs. Jay Lethal
A hugely anticipated match where the commentary team tell of how AJ Styles may have a point to prove here tonight. The early exchange is 50-50 and the fans too are split down the middle with their allegiences. Lethal off the ropes and AJ dropkicks him low in the knee, perhaps trying to weaken the leg for a Figure-Four later on. This doesn't last though as Lethal gets on top and he hits a series of moves on AJ including a dropkick to the mush, a backbreaker and a headscissors that sends AJ to the outside. AJ for a moment gets the pendulum to swing, but before he gets any momentum Lethal drops AJ on the apron and Lethal backs off as Ric Flair checks on AJ at ringside. Lethal gets back in the ring and AJ eventually gets in. Styles gets on top as he sets Lethal to the top rope huting him hin his misters. AJ then follows up with a side volley and Lethal falls back into the ring. The match goes back and fourth quicker than a set of hiccups. Lethal gets thrown to ringside and the Nature Boy removes his suit-jacket to wrap it around the neck of Lethal and choke the young superstar. Flair eventually throws Lethal back in the ring and AJ is left to pick up the bones. AJ slows the match down for a moment but Lethal gets back into it with a Great Mutah-type back elbow after he springboards and flips off the ropes. Jay Lethal has momentum and gets a near fall after a moonsault into a cross-body block. Flair looks paniccy as Jay Lethal hits the Lethal-Combination! Another near fall! Lethal then gets AJ to his feet but Styles uses his experience to counter Lethal's advances and perform a devastating backbreaker! Back and forth the match goes and Lethal manages to get a lift and a neckbreaker on AJ Styles! An amazing move, but this match is topsey turvey and AJ Styles manages to get Lethal on the mat and put him in the Figure-Four Leg lock! Lethal gets to the ropes, but AJ still has momentum. He gets Lethal up and attempts a Styles-Clash but Lethal reverses and ends up putting a huge belly to back suplex on AJ Styles! Back and forth and *BOOM* Pele! Styles then goes to the ropes but he is disoriented, he can't climb and when he does he tries to pull off an move but Lethal reverses it into the northern lights suplex straight into a pin - One, Two, Three!
Winner: Jay Lethal!
After the match Jay Lethal celebrates as Kaz comes to the ring and consoles the Nature Boy. What a win for Jay Lethal here tonight! AJ is left alone in the ring as Kaz and Flair leave together.
Sting is one on one with the camera and he says that when he wins the TNA World Title tonight the veil will be lifted. He says that there are three types of people in the world; those who want to save it, those who want to make it better and those who want to watch it burn. "Which one do you think I am Robbie?"
Christy is then backstage with Mr Anderson and Jeff Hardy. Mr Anderson says that they need a tag-team name. They come up with a few ideas. Charismatic Ass-holes, Ass-holes of the Night or Creatures of the Ass-holes. The team now call themselves The Extreme Enigmatic Ass-Holes.
Beer Money vs. The Extreme Enigmatic Ass-Holes
Beer Money show their metal by doing some excellent tag-team work against both Mr Anderson and Jeff Hardy. Beer Money claim that they are a 'real' tag team while Anderson and Hardy combine as two singles competitor's doing what they do best - but as a team. Beer Money perform frequent tags and at first single out Jeff Hardy and then Mr Anderson, doing an excellent job to ground Hardy and double-team Mr Anderson. The match goes back and forth as Mr Anderson drops to ringside on his tailbone and Beer Money double-team Hardy to drop him for a DDT! Anderson though does well to drag James Storm out of the ring. Meanwhile Hardy performs a Stunner-like move on Roode. Hardy hits a Swanton! But as the referee counts, James Storm pulls the him to ringside and the match continues. Beer Money then corner Jeff Hardy as the fans chant for the Ass-Holes. Jeff Hardy is resilient after many attempted pin-falls from Beer Money. Constant tags and double-team moves have Hardy totally dominated by James Storm and Robert Roode. The fans do all they can to applaud Jeff Hardy back into action and it works for a moment, but Jeff goes for a Whisper In The Wind and misses contact on Robert Roode. Roode bad-mouths on Hardy and Jeff neckbreaker's him down and Hardy finally gets the tag! Mr Anderson comes in on fire and there's commotion in the ring with all four superstars in! Anderson goes at it on Roode and Jeff Hardy performs an amazing Swan-dive over the ropes and to the ouside on James Storm! Back and forth the match goes and Beer Money think they're on top, but Jeff diverts Storm to ringside and meanwhile Mr Anderson hits the Mic-Check on Robert Roode!
Winners: Mr Anderson and Jeff Hardy - The Extreme Enigmatic Ass-Holes.

Sting vs. Rob Van Dam (c)
On this, the eighth birthday of Total Non-stop Action Wrestling we are ready for our main event of the evening! The Icon Sting versus the Whole F'n Show Rob Van Dam! Early thumb-taunts signal that the crowd are very much in the corner of Rob Van Dam. There is a clash of styles in this match though and Sting is out to put a hurting on RVD, taking him to ringside and immediately into the crowd. Earl Hebner the referee encourages the two of them to get back in the ring as Van Dam gets some focus and whips Sting into the famous Impact-Zone wall in the middle of the crowd. Van Dam tries taking Sting back toward the ring as they go over the guard rail. Hebner lets them go and Van Dam has control only until Sting back body drops an oncoming RVD over the guard rails and back into the crowd. Stinger then spends a lot of time in and out of the crowd and along ringside putting a hurting on RVD as Hebner continuously insists they go back in the ring. Sting obliges and gets Van Dam back in the ring and he puts him chest first into the corner to hit not one, but two Stinger-Splash's! Sting goes for the first cover of the match and gets a two count. He brings RVD to his feet and Van Dam does well back off the ropes to hit a double spinning wheel kick! Van Dam brings Sting to his feet but The Icon rushes him into the corner. Van Dam gets out of it and manages to get himself past Sting and to the far corner. High flying cross body off the to rope - but Sting ducks and it's on Earl Hebner! The referee is down and Sting takes this opportunity to use the trademark black bat on RVD!
