" MISERY LOVES COMPANY"

October 4th 2008 01:33
Stephen King has had many great books and movies throughout his career.

One of my favorites is"MISERY". Now she is one crazy lady. Kathy Bates
was fantastic. She plays Annie Wilkes an obsessed fan of author Paul Sheldon.
James Caan is the brillant actor who plays Paul Sheldon.

Paul is just driving along thinking about his dead line of his up coming book;
in the middle of a blizzard; When he lost control of his car on the snow and ice
and crashes into the raven.

Annie happens upon the site. She realizes who is lying there and picks him

up and takes him home. What happens next is unreal.

IIt seems Annie doesn't like the fact that Paul killled of the main character in
his manuscript.

She nursed Paul back to health to just take a sledge hammer to his knees
and ankles so he can't leave. She wants him to rewrite the ending: but he
refuses.

Annie denies him food and constantly torchers Paul over this manuscript.
She wants the main character brought back to life.

Paul tries everything to get away. He tries to crawl on his belly only to find
the doors all locked. He tries to be extremely nice to Annie. But Annie sees
right through that fauced. He even tries to catch the sheriffs attention to no
avail. He only witnesses his death by Annie's hand. It eventually ends in
Annie wilkes untimely death.

I truely believe this story is a master piece. The movie was pretty good
a to die to see movie.

"THE GOD OF HORROR"

September 28th 2008 02:53
Stephen king first started writing in high school. Stephen and his brother
David published a newspaper called "Dave's Rag" in January of 1959.

In1963 King wrote short stories called "People Places and Things--Volume 1."
These were written with best friend Chris Chesley. King wrote "Hotel at the end
of the Road' , "I've got to get Away", "The Dimension Warp", "The Thing at the
Bottom of the Well", "The Stranger", "I'm Falling", "The Curse Expedition", and
"The Otherside of the Fog". A year later Triad and Gasslight Books published
"The Star Invaders".

His first published appearance was in 1965. It appeared in the magazine
Comics Review. The story was "I was`a Renaged Graverobber". Later in 1966
he wrote a novel about a group of kids who toke over a classroom and tried to
fight off the National Guard; unsuccessfully i might add. In his first year of college
he wrote his first full lenght novel. But sadly when submitted for publication the
book "The Long Walk" was turned down.

"The Glass Floor" brought in his first $35 sale. "The Dark Tower" series started
from a poem he read. The poem you ask; was one by Robert Downing called
"Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came".

His book "Carrie" which i might add he originally throw away and his wife
encourgaged him to finish; netted a whopping $400,000 . Alot back in the 1970's.
This grossed King over $200,000. He quit his teaching job to pursue writing
full time.

STHEPHEN KING -THE MAN

September 25th 2008 02:58
Stephen has had to overcome some obsticales in his life. One night his father Donald left to go get cigarettes and never came back. The family bounced around State to State over several years before settling down in Durham , Maine in 1958.

In the 1980's King was addicted to cocaine. Tabitha his wife, organized a group of family and friends for a little intervention. She took his trash can containing; beer cans, cigarette butts, cough and cold medicine along with his drug paraphernalia, and dumped it out in front of him. This was her sign to him to either get help or get out. They no llonger were willing to watch him comitt a slow suicide. He got help and is now clean and sober.

June 1999 Stephen King was hit from behind by a minivan while walking Route 5 near North Lovell, Maine. King suffered critical injuries such as: a broken leg, bruised lung, broken ribs, head laceratiion and severly fractured hips. He was found in a ditch 14 feet off the road. It is believed he was thrown in the collision. He had to endure three weeks of surgery before being released.

They say Bryan Smith the driver of the van was distracted by his dog. The van sustained a great amount of damage. The windshield was broken and the front right corner was crunched in from the impact.

Rumor has it Stephen King bought the van; and had planned to tear tear it to pieces on the anniversary date of the accident.

He has had a few book rejections in his time as well. But being who he is, has bounced back to become a top notch writer. As a matter of fact he is the most succesful American Writer in History.
