Awake ! For morning's pure delight
Chased the stars away in fright,
Washed the sky with powder blue
And banished shades of sombre hue.
Let's both go now, without delay
Out in the sunshine to romp and play
We'll venture forth just for fun
Enjoy while we can, the warming sun.
Begone, you hurtful pains and blues
We have one single wish for you
You may leave, bent or frayed
'Cause we will love the day away.
