Time Zones

Most people know what time it is. I usually dont. My company is based in the mid-west and my loads are set on Central Time. So is my watch. I'm delivering a load in L.A. in a few hours and I managed to get here early. But I woke up at 5 a.m. my time when its 3 a.m. here. Now my clock says 6 and the local radio station tells me its 4. No wonder the wife sounds so sleepy when I call her at 7 or 8 in the morning, my time!
During my days off its a real problem. Last Xmas I got to the kids house after driving all day and everyone else was still rarin to go when I fell asleep on the couch. I guess its kinda like jet lag. Maybe it should be called truck lag, though.

Making a marriage stick together takes alot of effort on both sides. You have to have things in common that you can do together when your home, but you need interests of your own too. You have some friends the same and a different bunch of friends too.
My wife would go nuts if she didnt have things to do while Im gone. But we talk on the phone once or twice a day and tell each other everything. She always asks me what Ive had to eat. I like junk food and she wants me to eat healthy. lol
The most important thing is to trust each other. Weve been married a long long time and neither one of us would cheat on the other. We both know this.
The last thing I suggest, Sugar, is for you to have plenty to do while hes home. Keep the magic and romance going.
Not everyone is cut out to be a trucker or a truckers wife. Youll have to find that out for yourselfs. Good luck.
