It has been a while. I am back. The election had become too much for me to bear. If you read my past posts, you know that I am an avid supporter of President Elect Barack Obama. Wait; let me say that again, President Elect Barack Obama. Hold on, one more time for the haters, racist and right winged quacks. President Elect Barack Obama. I have cried, cheered, and laughed, but now its time to get down to business.
It's So Nice to Have a President Who Looks at His Wife LIke This!
President Elect Barack Obama as far as I am concerned is making some excellent decisions. He has surrounded himself with people who are good at what they do, who may not have always agreed with him. His vetting process is more detailed than any previous President Elect is. When the only thing our current lame duck President seems to be doing is pardoning turkeys, he is assembling, a dream team of economic advisors to help get the United States out of the mess President Bush has put us in.
As we slowly approach January 20, I am filled with pride and hope. We are the only industrialized nation to elect a black President. Even with our history of slavery, Jim Crow and disenfranchisement of people of color we have shown we as a nation can right our wrongs. We aren’t where we should be but we are definitely heading in the right directions.

Powell Says he is "Troubled
Retired General Colin L. Powell, one of the country's most respected Republicans, stunned both parties on Sunday by strongly endorsing Sen. Barack Obama for president on NBC's "Meet the Press" and laying out a blistering, detailed critique of the modern GOP.
Powell said the election of Obama would "electrify the world."
"I think he is a transformational figure," Powell said. "He is a new generation coming ... onto the world stage and on the American stage. And for that reason, I'll be voting for Senator Barack Obama."
As a key reason, Powell said: "I would have difficult with two more conservative appointments to the Supreme Court, but that's what we'd be looking at in a McCain administration."
Powell, once considered likely to be the nation's first African-American presidential nominee, said his decision was not about race.
Powell, who last year gave the Arizona senator's campaign the maximum $2,300, replied: "If I had only had that in mind, I could have done this six, eight, 10 months ago. I really have been going back and forth between somebody I have the highest respect and regard for, John McCain and somebody I was getting to know, Barack Obama. And it was only in the last couple of months that I settled on this."
"I can't deny that it will be a historic event when an African-American becomes president," Powell continued, speaking live in the studio. "And should that happen, all Americans should be proud — not just African-American, but all Americans that we have reached this point in our national history where such a thing could happen. It would also not only electrify the country, but electrify the world."
For those conservatives who want to make this about race, remember there is another Harvard black man on the ballot, Alan Keyes and he could have also chosen to endorse. Many of you conservatives have also said that you would vote for Colin Powell. Now here is your opportunity to vote for who he is endorsing for President.

Republicans Please Vote For Alan Keyes
This post is for all of you Republicans who proclaim you have nothing against Senator Barack Obama because he’s black, you would vote for Alan Keyes in a heart beat. Well if you’ve received your sample ballot, you will see that Alan Keyes is on there, so go ahead, vote fore him. For those of you who don’t know, Alan Keyes, is a conservative American political activist, author and former diplomat, and perennial candidate for public office. He ran for President of the United States in 1996, 2000, and 2008, and was a Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in 1988, 1992, and 2004. Keyes served in the U.S. Foreign Service, was appointed Ambassador to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations under President Ronald Reagan, and served as Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs from 1985 to 1987. The list goes on but this post if really not for those of you who don’t know who he is, it’s for those who know. I am calling all of you out who said you have nothing against Senator Obama because he’s black. You would vote for Colin Powell or Alan Keyes. Well here is your opportunity. He is on the ballot. I would like for you to put your vote where your mouth is. I am asking all of you Republicans who told me that you would vote for Alan Keyes to actually vote for him. Why? Because I simply don’t believe you. You know good and well when Alan Keyes was running for the Presidency you didn’t vote for him and you’re not going to vote for him now. That was just your lame excuse to not vote for the black candidate because you didn’t want to believe that you were actually a racist. If you need some help figuring out if you’re a racist or not, here are some helpful hints.
1. If you are surprised that Barack Obama “speaks so well” you’re probably a racist. He went to two Ivy League schools and taught constitutional law, how did you expect him to speak?
2. If you think that Michelle Obama Has an attitude, you’re probably a racist. This is a completely unwarranted discription on of her. She has not said or done anything for anyone to say this.
3. If you think that Barack Obama is not African American because his father was not a slave….ok I will throw you a bone here, this is ignorance. But just for your information, the first Africans in American were not slaves, and the first slaves in America weren’t African. The fact that Obama can actually pin point where in Africa he’s from makes him authentically an African American.
4. If you think black people are voting for Obama because he’s black you’re probably a racist. And uninformed. 93% of African Americans who voted, voted for John Kerry, 95% voted for Al Gore. Barack Obama’s camp however has mobilized voters who have not voted in the past, black and white
Back to the subject at hand. Republicans. I am calling you out. Since your black friend Alan Keyes is on the ballot, please vote for him. This is your opportunity to put your vote where your mouth is!

It’s simple math really. We’re in debt. John McSame tries to say that it is irresponsible to raise taxes. The Republicans have a lot a nerve. It’s obvious they are not models of fiscal probity. Now McSame is saying after being in congress for over 20 years that he has the answers to put the economy on the right track. Well I am quite angry at John McCain because if this is true, I think he should be fired from the U.S Senate. You have the answer to our struggling economy but you have to hold on to that answer unless we vote you into the White House? Yeah…ok and Sarah Palin is an expert in foreign policy because she can see Russia from the window of her home although she just received a passport last year (yeah right).
When Big Bush (George Bush Sr.) lied to the American people and said “Read my lips, no more taxes.” So many people believed that bologna. I’d like to think that the American people have evolved since then. Republicans seem to believe that Americans don’t want to know the truth. November 4th they will be in for a big surprise.

Sarah Palin's Dysfunctional Family
No matter how you slice it. Levi Johnston is just Bristol Palin’s baby daddy. They are not married and no matter what their intentions may be, he is not her husband. Sarah Palin should be ashamed of her self for publicly parading her knocked up daughter and her baby’s daddy on stage. I was disgusted as I watched the hen pecked father and little piper holding the baby when she is just a baby herself. And I've said it before and I will say it again. Bristol Palin is no longer a child. She is fair game. If she can crack open her legs and have sex, have a baby and get married, she should be able to take a little criticism.
This was just a pathetic display of an American dysfunctional family. He is not a member of their family. See what happens Sarah if you don’t talk to your children about sex? Newsflash! If you take birth control pills everyday at the same time, it can prevent an unwanted pregnancy. I am not saying that Sarah should disown her daughter. I am just saying that her relaxed attitude in public is setting a bad example for what she claims she represents. Particularly since the public flogging the right wing gave to Jamie Spears.
Here is a direct quote from the man who is about to raise this poor defenseless child and supposedly (yeah right) become a husband

Dumb O'Reilly's Hate Speech
No surprise Fox news is at it again. The funny part as you’ll see in this video is that they shamelessly lack originality. The folks at Fox use almost verbatim, the same attacks they used against John Kerry in 2004. It is bad journalism to say statements like “Radical liberal.” This is the type of language you may not be surprised to find on the blogosphere but you wouldn’t expect a reputable journalist to exaggerate such statements. As I have said before in my book review of The Audacity of Hope, Barack Obama’s views are actually more toward the center than most people believe, even Democrats. To say that he has voted most liberal in the Senate, probably means that he has voted against George W. Bush’s cronies most of the time. Is that a bad thing?

Over 20 years ago, Barack Obama began his career as a Community Organizer. It seems as if Rudy Guliani and Sarah Palin aren’t quite sure what a Community Organizer does so I would like to do a little ignorance bashing to help anyone out who may be fooled by the ridiculous comparison of Mayor and Community Organizer. A career as a community organizer is an option for people who want to make a difference, are concerned about social inequities, and are interested in community solutions and empowering people. People come to careers in community organizing from diverse professions and backgrounds.

I don’t know if this is true or not but it doesn’t look good. Has George W. Bush not shamed us enough? I am not saying it is true, I am just saying the perception of this is awful. With all of the issues we have going on in America. Our President appears to be having a gay old time in Beijing. In one of the photos he appears to be getting quite a bit of enjoyment out of looking at the tattoo of one of the volleyball stars. In another photo it looks like he’s having to be physically moved from the stadium. Is that a beer in President Bush’s hand? Isn’t he an alcoholic? Is that the American flag he’s holding up backwards?
I Love You Man!

Yeah Yeah I get it. Candidates children should be off limits when it comes to campaigning. In my opinion, Palin’s daughter is about to have a family of her own. She stood on the platform with her mother to except the candidacy for Vice President. I don’t believe she should be off limits. I am also appalled that the only response is, We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents,". That response leads me to believe that they left that decision up to her and it sounds like the idea to not keep the baby was something that was discussed. I think Sarah Palin and her husband are big hypocrites.
The Picture Speaks For Itself
How can you walk around preaching Pro-Life when you support the possibility of your underage daughter to terminate her pregnancy. Now you want to shot gun your 17 year old daughter down the aisle so that it doesn’t look so bad.If she didn't try to be so holier than though, she would've marched her daughter down to their gynecologist and put her on some birth control pills

Everyone seems to be up in arms about the little known, moose stew making, self proclaimed hockey mom the Republican pundits have chosen to run with McCain(Note that during his introduction of her, he had to read her name off of a piece of paper) . I need not go into details about her professional history or scandalous investigation. I am sure you’ve already read all about the details in the hundreds of other political blogs.
Sarah Who????
Now that McCain has chosen her, there is a lot of speculation as to how the democrats should approach having her on the ticket. My answer is simply ignoring her as much as possible. She is a non-issue. Hillary Clinton’s “Party Unity My A**” group are non-existent at this point
