Through the remnants
November 22nd 2007 09:01
Through the remnants of a rock fall I weave
And try to find a way to solid ground.
In this place I cannot restore the earth;
I must leave it; I must leave it intact
And find a place to rest; then draw my map.
I have been beaten; I climbed the mountain
And in my happiness I slipped; I fell
And with it came the avalanche; the rocks.
I was not watching where I was walking.
I was looking at my success; my ego.
I am lucky this time; I am alive
And I can see, somewhat, where the rocks were,
Where the rocks are; I must tread carefully
Next. My dignity hurts a little, now.
What is here now is my life. It is me.
I must find a way out, to a clearing,
Sort out the mess I have made; clean it up
And look for the next place; for happiness.
Though I must be careful not to fall. See.
And try to find a way to solid ground.
In this place I cannot restore the earth;
See.
