Even gods for you wait
August 29th 2007 10:48
I think of you and every time I smile
A pot of gold day or night in my heart
As a pharaoh lying by the Nile
I wait for you from the heavens to part.
My queen all jewels are nothing to your smile
No artists touch as fine, your thoughts, your style
No birdsong sweeter, no voice speaks so true
And no blue sea deeper than your eye’s hue.
I dare not let the gods to hear my song
For they will see what they have let to be
What I as man see by the moonlight long
As earth’s precious sun, you of heaven’s sea.
I hold my breath and feel your soul beside
And the gods, with me, wait, for morning’s tide.
