Then there is Peace . . .

How do we get peace that is real? Well first there is the born again experience. This gives us peace. When I first experienced this my nights were sleepless and chaotic. A good friend loaned me a tape deck and some Christian cassettes.
When I played these, it gave me a feeling of peace and I was able to sleep. Eventually the tapes wore out. I faced the fact that music was okay, but I had given my life over to God not a tape player.
I found that I needed to face these feelings and bring them out into the open. By doing this, it was as if they were being sterilized. I surrendered my reliance on the tape deck into God’s hands. Instead of asking the Lord to release me from this problem, I asked for strength to bear it. My release came and I got a goodnights sleep.
It is not what we go through but rather how we handle the situation. Now I have written about a tape deck but you can substitute that for any given situation. Try it with an addiction and see what God will do.
