Theology of Chocolate Cake

January 11th 2007 01:24
What is the best way to understand the Christian religion? The absolute and concrete belief that the Bible is the inspired Word of God?

This is the assignment I am working on at the moment. My feeling is that trying to understand a religious thought process that is different to your own is a bit like being at a bakesale and at this bakesale, there is a smorgasboard of chocolate cakes. Some are pretty basic. They look average. Nothing inviting about them that makes you want to sink your teeth into them. Some are layered and have rosettes and thick layers of icing. You think they are pretty and some people might want to eat them but you know by looking it just involves too much of everything and would be too much for you to eat. Then, you look, and there is one in the center of the table that is really beautiful. Lots of layers, not too much icing, and you see from the sample that it has a deep center of fudge inside. There is some substance to this cake. It catches your eye, there is something different about this cake. A quality of quality about it

A little girl, named Tammy, about five years old, jumps down from the chair with a thump onto the green linoleum kitchen floor. Her blonde hair flies out behind her as she lands. She giggles.

That is always the best part! The landing.

Christmas is here and this year, I was prepared! I started shopping in September, I made use of layaway plans, I really put a lot of thought into the gifts I purchased, I even had the majority of my gifts wrapped three weeks ago, and the house cleaned. I was going to have a good Christmas if it killed me. A good Christmas meant a nonstressed one. One where I could just sit back, sipping on my hot cocoa and wait for the snow to fall. No worries, no overspending, just indulging myself in the spirit of the season for once.

Despite everything I have already told you I got done early, I still have presents to wrap. I have had to deal with the death of my sister in law, help get Christmas set up for my now widower brother and his children. I had to Christmas shop for them and wrap their gifts, too. I had orders for holiday baking to fill because I am Martha Stewart according to friends and coworkers. I didn't overspend financially this season...I overspent in time and I was stressed.

This American Girl Swallows...

December 7th 2006 23:39
I close my eyes and give a gutteral sigh of pleasure. With my mouth full, my tongue wraps around the flesh in my mouth. The heat of it, the taste, the juices which flow into the back of my throat is a total sensory experience. I wrap my lips around, enthralled. I use my teeth, my lips and my tongue. The moment comes and I am done. I swallow the last of the juices, freeing my mouth from the task at hand. I sit back and wipe my lips with the back of my hand. Afterglow.

Voices' Slumber Party

November 30th 2006 00:28
Okay, I am sick of sadness. Let's have a slumber party...guys, you too! I promise there will be girls in their panties having pillow fights...I kid, I tease, I jest! No poetry, no prose, no sadness tonight. Let's just have some good fun getting to know one another. Everyone, come on in! Let's get to know each other better.

In the wisdom of two people, KylieW and Nina, who left comments a couple nights ago, let's go to the lighter side and have a little fun.

So desperate to grab onto something to be good at, I latched onto writing at an early age. I would much rather write to someone than to have a conversation with them. My mind doesn't make the connection between what I am thinking and what ends up spewing out of my mouth like verbal vomit. Writing is a release of everything negative and positive in my life. I have been told often that I am a good writer...they lie.

I am 34 years old. I am running out of time to decide what I want to be when I grow up...for christ sake, I am almost there...

Government interference into our right to free speech has always been met with a fight. For some reason, somehow, we have allowed them to walk right up and slap duct tape across our mouths without so much as an argument...although we couldn't really, what with the duct tape across our mouths.

I had this dream years ago and it plaques me to this day. I was on a little tour of nondescript wherethehellever. In fact, I was in a little group of people who were touring together. We were visiting the home of Ernest Hemingway. Of course, there were all of these ropes restricting certain areas. However, I was leaning up against this wall and my hand went through the wall to reveal this secret passageway. When I slipped my hand inside, there was this beautiful wrought iron gate with a large padlock on it. I slipped away from the group and came back to the passageway. The next thing I knew, I had slipped into the passageway and found myself in front of another wrought iron gate, this time unlocked. It opened up to Hemingway's old loft...his WRITING loft. (I love that part of the dream, that moment of realization.) I sat down in his chair and began to write. That is where the dream ends.

Here is some information you may or may not need to analyze the dream.
