The View From the Cheap Seats

"Politics" and "pornography" are close together in the dictionary for good reason. True, most pornos don't have the flashy production values that we associate with our so-called "leaders." Then again, what two women can do with a shemale, a radish and a jungle gym isn't remotely as obscene as most of what our elected leaders do to our country on a daily basis.
This is an attempt to stand out from most political blogs. Most blogs covering politics fall into one of two categories:
1: Those who dump on the Democrats as spineless wimps and who celebrate that George W. Bush can do no wrong. While I don't argue the part about Democrats being comically ineffectual, I have yet to see any sign that Dubya can do anything right. He sees nothing wrong with Iraq circling the bowl for almost four years until his Stepford Congress is voted out from under him. Now instead of securing the border to keep any more insurgents and arms out, he just wants to secure one city so the troublemakers can stand outside and fire mortars and missiles into Baghdad.
2: The other kind of blog ridicules Bush as an incompetent moron and praises the Democrats as our saviors. While I kind of agree with the part about Bush taking the "short limousine" to State functions, after this past election I had zero expectations from the Dems and they still disappointed me. Yeah, lets waste several weeks arguing over a non-binding resolution!!
For those who don't follow politics (Or at least the dumb circus that is American politics) a non-binding resolution is just that: It doesn't do anything, accomplish anything, start, stop, build or dismantle anything. It's the legislative equivalent of putting a bumper sticker on your car; except that even the less mentally fit among us can usually manage to do that in seconds rather than weeks.
No wonder a dead bimbo is at least as newsworthy as the "leadership" of this country.

Celebrity Obsession
The state of Australian politics is kind of similar to that of America at the moment. Our Prime Minister is a total moron who blindly follows every move of George Dubya's (and we all know what an idiot that man is). However, the opposition party is so woefully ineffectual that despite the fact that everyone hates John Howard, the opposition party still can't win a vote!
Just sad really.

As for the congaline of suckholes we have here in Aus ( to pinch a phrase from an ex-pollie), I just want Howard out. Otherwise the only way he'll ever be removed from leadershp will be in a wooden box.
